Shooting a match today with 7 mag. 180eldm at 3060. On one of the “gimmi” targets, no one could spot the impact. Full size ipsc target at 500 yards. Mountain of berm around it and no splash. I’m guessing the bullet exploded on the way but didn’t think to look for a puff of smoke.

You're right, I should have clarified its a Ruger American Ranch. Bolt gun. I've also noticed a subsonic .308 packed with trailboss is quieter than a .300 BO. A friend shooting 9ish grains of trailboss and a 180 grain is significantly quieter than my blackout.

I do, that's why I didn't take the shot last year. The property owner is the one that doesn't.

Realistically I would be keeping shot under 300. I had he chance to take a shot at 800 last year but passed. The only time I would take that shot is if the property owner were with me and asked me to. These were crop damage deer so he doesn't care about good shot placement, just wants them dead.
