Just read a thread over at snipers hide about this. The poster had over 4000 rounds down the tube and it was still shooting very well. I think the thread was called "shot out 260". Others were chiming in with their round counts.

In 223 its a definite no go for me. too many lost dogs and runners. 308 might be better but still not good. If you decide to hunt wolves then that's a whole different story :)
