    Shallow front pillar issue

I made pillars for my rifle and contoured the ends to match the round action. It seems very solid.

    Lightweight, high-performance polished WOOD stock

I’ve worked with a few small pieces of quilted big leaf maple for cribbage boards, etc. It’s really cool stuff!

    Lightweight, high-performance polished WOOD stock

My buddy and I did the digging. He wasn’t a woodworker, so I paid him for his time and kept it. I had help with loading 😃. I have many pieces left for future projects.

    Lightweight, high-performance polished WOOD stock

    6.5 prc

People have asked the same question about the 308, 270, 25-06, 243, 7-08, 6.5 creedmoor, and others, and the answer was yes. For the 6.5 PRC, the answer is yes, hell yes!

    Weight variance in monometal bullets

Biggest spread is about 0.2 percent. If you aren't weighing powder to less than 0.1 grains (6 milligrams), that's about the same amount of error. For the same energy (powder), a change in weight is proportional to a change in square of velocity. The weight difference of 0.24 grains above would...

The lapping bar is about 16 thousandths less than 34mm. I measured the thickness of 400 and 600 grid wet dry paper and it came out to about .008. So double that is .016. When one layer paper is wrapped on the bar, it’s right at 34mm.

If the imaginary line through the center of the scope and center of the bore is vertical, and the vertical cross-hair matches the vertical center to center line, the scope is aligned. The center to center line can be aligned...

Leveling your scope quick and easy

Similar to the device shown in the post by LRSNM, I am building the scope leveling device shown in the pictures (please excuse the Remington 742 Woodmaster in the pictures, it is used for demonstration purposes only 🤣). I just have to add a level on top. This device finds the center line of the...

    New Rifle Project

Thanks! Sent it off to Tim Smith-Lyon at classic checkering. He seems like a good guy, has a 12-week lead time right now, so I expect the stock back around the end of March, early April.

    Ultralight, or ultra durable

With the muzzle brake, recoil is going to be about the same as your old 30-06 without a brake. Can you shoot it first before you finalize your decision?
