Update on the McGuire Ballistics 225 gr Copper Rose load work. It was short & sweet! Started with a short charge weight ladder using H4350. The mono's take up a bit of case room so 78 & up were starting to get compressed.

For Elk and smaller, 500 & in yardage, AND suppressed you can really get away with alot. I personally would feel better about a 7mm or 30 cal on Elk but there's plenty of proof out there saying a 6.5mm works well also. If its a dedicated Elk rifle, and not a deer rifle that occasionally crosses...
This rifle is on the fence of getting pulled into some bullet prototype testing soon! I took some baseline measurements with the new McGuire Ballistics the other day. These things are perfect for long freebore chambers like the 338 Norma!
It's turned into a fun little project! Gotta love it when they come together like that. It will get really interesting when I get my 338 suppressor for it too.
Checked 77/78/79/80 gr again and nearly identical results as before. Load development with 225 Accubonds + H4350 done ✔️ , couldn't ask for much better than that!!
Next up I'm going to do a little testing with the new McGuire Ballistics 338's! Somewhere along the lines I need to test some 250...
Getting some work done here with 225 Accubonds + H4350.
Decided to dial in on that 2850-3000 fps range and shoot some groups starting at 76, and up to 80. Also loaded up a couple charge weights of H4831sc that showed some promise earlier "just because".
Pretty happy with what I'm seeing with...
I've used N560 with 125 gr mono's in the 6.5 PRC with great results. 56-59 gr usually works pretty well.
The badlands I've used in the past usually tune around .025-.030" off or around .075-.080" off the lands.
