    Cutting Edge Bullet Velocity

My fliers were commming from the 377 mtac Exp 3's....I just loaded up some more 400 gr MTH's Exp 2's for the 8.25 twist. The good news is that it should not take too much work to find the node because I've already played with 50BMG. I will be back at the range on Thrs to do some initial testing...

Im not going to give up on the 377's,,when I get another batch, Im going to go back to square one and shoot cardboard and plywood to see if they're...

    Cutting Edge Bullet Velocity

I didn't crono the fliers that day,,,,The day before at the range this load was averaging 2960 fps, but the Xbal validated speed was 3006 fps and the distance was 825 yards...One flier was 11/2 moa high and the other flier was 11/2 moa low...It seems weird that I had a 3.5 inch 3 shot group and...

    Cutting Edge Bullet Velocity

Augustus,,, I have been testing the "cutting edge" 377grain & 402 grain MTAC's over the last few weeks. I ran out of the 402's and I hope to complete the testing on them in my 8.25 twist 375 this week. I have shot several of the 377 grain bullets in the same gun and got some awesome 100 yard...

    Cutting Edge 375 Bullets

LR3,,, Just to clarify........ Dave's test with the GS 414 solid was done at 1150 yards, not 1400...And it was initally a 2 shot group that yielded a 2 inch group. He ran out of bullets so he went back to the shop and loaded 2 more, shot them and it spread out to a 4 inch group.....Not bad...

Shot 300 gr Bergers at 983 yards..C foto

Yea, I agree....I just like to post the data to keep others in the loop...The berger isn't the BC everyone thought, but it still seems to be a heck of a bullet at lapua and edge speeds. I hope they can get the next bullet to shoot at faster speeds for the snipe tacs and allan mags. zman

Shot 300 gr Bergers at 983 yards..C foto

Shawn Carlock suggested an 818 BC with the Berger, along with my guess at 2800 fps, this was right on the money regarding elevation. I really wish to see how this performes at extra long range, but didn't want to do it yesterday in the crazy wind. I would rather try the mile stuff with more...

Shot 300 gr Bergers at 983 yards..C foto

Shot the Bergers today with my 338 edge to 983 yards........ I first shot at 675 yards to validate my trajectory and my guess at 2800 fps was right on the money. I shot a 3 shot 5 inch group, not too impressive, but given the wind, it was impressive. The Mirrage was so heavy today (100 degrees...

shot 300 gr Bergers in 338 edge

Berger said the nose slump was at 3,000 fps and faster, but I will tell you that others are telling me that this baby shoots real good only to 2,860 FPS...I looked at the bullet holes from 91 to 93 grs I shot and you can definately see the holes become more ragged as the speed is increased. 91...

shot 300 gr Bergers in 338 edge

I use a very big slab break from Defensive Edge...My ten year old son shoots it, so it's really mild. Not sure how it would feel without the break though..Probably kick like a mule......I long range hunt and shoot and always wear plugs. I find the break gives me that added accuracy that I need...

shot 300 gr Bergers in 338 edge

Got two more tests....tomorrow we will shoot in the day to validate the trajectory and then some shooting to 1000 in the wind,,then one of these nights this week I hope to shoot in the dark with no wind to really see how they group...more later zman
