I inherited my grandfather’s 22-06 which he had made in the 60’s on a Winchester model 70. Depending on the load you would get north of 4000 fps.

I ended up with a 24" barrel in the Kimber - I prefer a lighter 140gr Barnes TTSX (all copper) for most applications. Living in CA has its limitations.

Thanks. That what I was leaning towards. The 280ai is so versatile, a 6.5 doesn't make much sense. The 30-06 doesn't get much horsepower over the 280 either. Thanks
