What did you use for a scope? I've got the factory claw mount and was debating about keeping it or swapping to a picatinny mount and some lower rings.

I just got a 200lb boar a couple weeks ago with a 30-30. Plenty of people around Georgia shoot right behind the ear with 5.56's and .243's. I've only had trouble punching through the shield with a 25-35 (obsolete caliber, I know) on a huge boar.

CastleRocker- not to drag this too far off topic, but can you share some info on where you got your 25 WSSM upper and roughly how much was it? Also, would love to hear more about your carbon wrapped 223 too.

Well talking to a buddy of mine, he's got an 18.5" Grendel barrel waiting for me when I get home! Picked it up on a midwayusa sale and didn't end up using it so he'll sell it to me for what he's got in it. :D I'm pretty happy with it, looks like I'll have good ballistics and should be easy...

It's pretty amazing what an "old brush gun" can really shoot. They're not all sub-MOA, but with the Leverevolution rounds they're darn close. However, beware of some of the new Remington built Marlins. XS sights makes a good rail system. I've got one on my 1895GBL.
