1 Rifle to rule them all

I wish I had one, but I do not, so that option is out. Will hopefully be my next purchase though  I'm with 300Whisper. I'd grab my 7 RM, 870, and my Beretta .40 S&W, and just as much ammo as I can carry. It still counts, because there is only 1 rifle there :D

    It's cold in Idaho

Now wait a minute. That's what I heard about wyomingagans :). ( no offense intended)

Looking to re barrel a Mauser 98?

I have an opportunity to buy a Mauser 98 that is still wearing the military stock, all original. I wish I had a borescope so I could take a peek. I would like to get one someday, have it sporterized, but leave it in it's original caliber just so I can say I have one. The action still ran...

    It's cold in Idaho

LOL! That's funny. We are about 10 degrees warmer than you guys are here, but it is still chilly. I much prefer this weather to getting swamp butt in the summer months :D Winter rocks! Plus, that is when hunting season comes around, which makes it that much more awesome!!!

    357mag and a Muley

I've hunted and taken deer with a 44 mag Ruger Redhawk. I know how much of a challenge it is. Well done sir, and nice shooting! Any deer taken with a revolver is hard work, and a trophy for sure.

    Remington 700 quality

I do the same thing, except I use JB Bore Paste rather than Flitz. It works well too, and I have noticed that the copper fouling is not bad at all.

Brown is down or Let em go so they can grow?

I can completely agree with shooting the small bucks with limited potential. If you have control over the ground you hunt then it is good for herd management. I don't have control, so each buck I pass is a buck I can (hopefully) see later. I have shot crab clawed mule deer bucks in the past...

Nice week to fire up the grill ...

I do not know how to do the sceen shot, but we are supposed to be a bit warmer. My buddies come out on Thursday for a 4 day muzzle loader camp. Temps are supposed to be; Thursday 13 degrees, Friday 16 degrees, Saturday 19 degrees, Sunday 20 degrees, and Monday 18 degrees. There is a chance for...

Brown is down or Let em go so they can grow?

This^^^^ is the same thing that we do. We pass on smaller bucks, and I have had several seasons where I have not shot a buck at all, but instead filled my tag with a fat doe during the last weekend. We have a rule at our camp that everything shot needs to be a 4x4 or larger. I know there...

    My son got his deer...

Congrats! That is a great looking buck. I bet he was happy with that and the hunt before.

    Nebraska Rifle Season

I can believe it. It was pretty tough. We just didn't see the deer that we normally do.

    Odd experience whitetail hunting

Thanks! I was a bit disappointed with the taxidermist. Rather than buying a smaller mount for the deer, he bought the typical mount and stretched the hide around it like nobodies business. The cape has since split behind the rack. Last time I used that guy. I wish you luck, and hope that...

    KY whitetail

Nice work for sure. I know there are a lot of doe hunters here on the forums, but it seems like doe hunting is under rated for sure. Those medallions that you cooked are the reason my family and I are all about the does! Good job, and thanks for posting!!! Joe
