I have a Savage 110 Ultralight in 6.5 PRC. Very accurate, very light, and can be had for around $1200-1250. I will say that the action was a bit rough when new, but keeps getting smoother as its cycled.

I sent an action to Preece Precision in Utah in early Feb to have an barrel chambered, cerakoted and installed. I got a message from him today saying it was on its way back. 6 weeks total time. Just throwing it out there for anyone else that might need work done in a hurry.

I received a Defiance Tenacity a few weeks ago from Altus and the nitriding was black. Hopefully you can get yours refinished or replaced.

I am shooting Berger 135 classic hunters with 57gr. RL26 in Gunwerks brass and a CCI BR2 primer in a 26" barrel at 3228 fps with great accuracy.

The stock model is an EH-4, and I used the stock Savage bottom metal and magazine.

I was not aware you were asking for a long action alternative. I believe you are correct.

The Manners EH-4 I bought has a mini chassis (can drop in if desired) and weighs somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 lbs. It is very hard to tell the difference in weight between the factory stock and the Manners when just picking them up, but I have not weighed each so I don't know the real...

I saw zero improvement switching to a Manners EH-4. I did it mainly for looks.
