I agree 300wm is great but I prefer the 7mm family. Less recoil better bc and still has big game potential plenty. 300 is better when taking less than ideal shots on game. Personally I pass on these shots. I really hate the thought of game suffering needlessly. 7mm and 6.5saum are my favorites...
Love my creeds, 6mm & 6.5. Anything that keeps shooting interest up is a plus for all of us. If you're too old to accept change maybe it's time to find a new interest. Gotta get back to growing my man bun so I'll quit there.
I would go 26" if I were getting one. I have a 28" 6.5saum that is a bit awkward to carry hunting. Great out of a stand though. 26 inch seems a good compromise as long as the weight doesn't become a factor. May a proof barrel to minimize ounces.
Even better, I hunt hogs year around here in Louisiana. When it's dry they gather around the creeks that have water year around. This really congregates them in much smaller areas. Mostly just locate corn piles close to water and put out motion sensing light. I have killed them as far as 285yds...

I've had the saum for about 7 years now and was always able to find norma 300 or 7mm brass to neck down without too much problem. Now that ADG makes brass I like the saum even better. I bought 300 pieces of brass but am still not finished up the norma brass. It is my fav gun I've ever...
