Whats the OAL of the case? Did you shorten the SAUM brass a bit to get the neck back behind the ogive of a 140 Berger at 2.95" or so? This sounds like a neat project and I bet it works well. It is a lot similar to My .264 Raptor Which sends 130 bergers or Accubonds over 3200 with a 24" Barrel...

Can a Llama keep up with a horse? The reason i ask is because we hunt several different ways, but mostly on foot or horse. I'd love to have a pack animal that can follow me on foot in the rugged stuff, but it would be a real bonus if it could follow when horseback and not get left in the dust...

I think it really comes down to what you want as your "effective range". If it is 600 and under a 6.5lb rig with scope will do it as long as it is a quality setup and you practice. Now, if that required range is 1000 yds a heavier rifle will be offer more stability and therefore more accurate...
