I made the dummy 338 Whisper (Hornady 250gr) bullet round over a year ago just to see what it looked like. Month ago I purchased a used 338 Whisper Contender barrel.

Finally got a daytime pic!!! had several nighttime pics of bobcats. Location is 15 miles from the Cabelas store in Wheeling WV. 4 year old Moultrie great for taking a family portrait too.

I found the pistol barrel in the used case at Gander Mountain around five years ago for $150. I hunt in WV so I called WV DNR and asked if it was legal to deer hunt with it. Very nice fellow spent 15 minutes on the phone looking in the regulations and finally read, 32 cal or larger single shot...

I made the switch to BH 209 powder and love it. First time I used it a shot 25 rounds in my Encore 209x50 rifle without cleaning! Here is a 3 shot 100 yard group I shot last year with mt 15 inch 209X50 Encore pistol barrel. Blackhorn 209

Here are two more SSK cartridges I have. 6.5 Mini-Dreadnaught JDJ based on the 220 Swift case and 35-06 JDJ both have 60 degree shoulder and short neck. Pretty sure all of the JDJ cartridges for the Encore have short necks. Never had any issues with them. 257JDJ Contender based on 225...

Loaded up some fire form loads for my Encore pistol. Using 35 Whelen brass, 61.0 grs of AA4350 and a 270 gr Hornady spire point. Sure blows the shoulder forward!
