I fanally finished my first precision long range rifle and i got alot of help from this forum so i thought i would say thank u and put a pic of it up. Rem 700 7mm mag blueprinted and cerokoted. 28 inch krieger barrel throated for 180 bergers, timney trigger, bansc m40 stock bedded, seekins rail...
My other problem is redding micromiter dies say not for compressed loads wich when i use retumbo in my 7 mag berger calls for 103 percent fill so can u still use the micromitee dies.
Ive got a set of rcbs dies im planning on using to reload 180 grain bergers in my 7 mag and ive read that your not supposed to use these dies for vld bullets. Is this true have any of u guys used rcbs dies to reload vld bullets and do they work just fine or are they really that innacurate. Also...
Sounds like an awsome day out shooting. Ive never tried rl 33 but my 7 mag and stw love the retumbo and h1000. I got lucky and got 16 pounds of retumbo from a freind for 300 bucks so most of my loads for a while will be with retumbo. I am curious to see how the 195 bullets shoot from my 7 mag. I...
Through the chrono with the 28 nosler is getting 3110 on average with the 195 bullets. I havnt seen the 7 rum with 195 grainers but with 180 bullets we were getting 3150 mv and the 7 stw was 3035 on average and my 7 mag with a 28 inch barrel was 3015 . The 28 nosler 7 rum and stw were with 26...
I would recommend 7mm rem mag for high bc bullets with decent recoil and powder burn. Its probably good for moose but i would probably want a little more energy so a 30 cal or 338 is probably a little better for moose. So maybe a 338 win mag,300 rum.
The 28 nosler and 7 rum are faster cartridges then the stw and if i were going to build a gun for the 195 bullets then u might as well push them as far as u can. Why use a slower cartridge when there are better ones that fit in the same receiver. The 7 stw is just a 7 mag pumped up a little bit...
If u are going to invest the time and money into a gun to specifically shoot t he largest bullets in that caliber then why go with a middle of the road cartridge. Thats how i look at it. Why would u want to limit yourself. Now if u have a bunch of brass for that calibee then i can understand...
28 nosler or 7mm rum is the caliber i would use. If u want to shoot big bullets as far as u can then i wouldnt waste time with a 7 mag or 7 stw. U definately want a 1 in 8 twist barrel and i would use krieger or bartlein for the manufacturer. They are the best to barrel companys imho but there...
So i just got my bell and carlson stock and i want to paint it gap camo. What kind of paint do u recomend. Should i duracoat it or can u cerakote it. Or ive read something about a dip. Ive never painted a stock before so any advice on what material or how to apply is really appreciated.
