Thanks for all the info. I'm not really concerned about any velocity...I just know that the factory ammo shoots well with a similar BC bullet so I wanted to get in that neighborhood...(hopefully I wouldn't have to change my zero but I know that I'm not that lucky!). Looks like I'll work up some...
I'm getting ready to load some shells for my 308(1 in 11" twist). I'll be using Berger 168 Hunting VLDs. I would like to replicate the factory ammo that i have been shooting...Lapua Scenar 167 grain which is shooting well. So which powder and how much to get me in the neighborhood of 2690fps...
I know I'm a little late, but I love mine! My dad and I both put 5 shots inside 3" at 550 yards with factory ammo on our first range trip. I have the 308 and I'm planning on a 300 Win next year.
Thanks! Well to be honest that scope isn't going to stay on it...it just looked really nice :D I ordered a NXS 2.5-10 with a velocity reticle (they called yesterday and it's here!!!) As far as how far I'm going to try to push it...as far as possible of course!!! Haha. The velocity reticle goes...
Got my upper back in the mail yesterday! 1-11" twist Douglas chambered in 6.8 SPC. Anyone have any good loads for it? I'm starting from scratch...never loaded for a 6.8 before.
Since I already have the 100 TTSX and 115 VLDs i guess I'll try them before I buy some Sierra's. Thanks for the loads Doc...just curious if you tried reloader 22? Quick load is showing similar velocities but with about 10% less powder with it. Not that I have any idea...you're the one that...
This is the first box of these bullets that I've ever used so I don't have an opinion yet...but I started sorting them and the entire box was so close that I gave up halfway through  This load was after I gave up and one of 3 that I'm going to take a closer look at. The other 2 loads...
My build should be done around the beginning of July. Anyone want to give up their pet loads? 28" 1-9" twist. Thinking about 100g Barnes TTSX OR 115g Bergers. Gun will be primarily used on groundhogs and coyotes...with some whitetails eventually. Just looking for a starting point
Found a load that the stock 22-250 likes. 52g nosler custom competition, rem primer, with 37g of H380. Should I be happy with that from a stock gun or should I play with the jump? I loaded that group just small enough to fit in the magazine.
