The prefit barrels are shouldered? Is that right? You didn't need a barrel nut, did you?

I've got a Howa 1500 in 6.5 CM . It's been a good rifle, but my safe is getting pretty full.

I know this is an old thread, But do you still like the rebarrel? Where there any tricks to getting the original off? I have an X Bolt in 300WM. My plan is to be able to switch barrels to a 6.5 PRC and then eliminate half the guns in my safe.

I've got access to some BIG gators, and lots of tags. . 10-12 foot is pretty common. Accommodations are fine - it's an old farm house, but heat, water, ac, tv for the football. It's my buddy's place. He does the guiding, cooking, driving, takes care of just about everything. Interesting trades...

Leases are tough. We've hunted with a few outfitters there. Some are better than others. Can give info if you like.

You interested in a gator hunt? I've got a buddy with lots of tags and BIG gators. 11 - 12 ft is pretty typical. It's big fun.

I might be interested in the action. I'm planning a switch barrel rifle. I have a savage short action, but was thinking about going with a long action. I have to decide on calibers. Do you know when it was made? Or could you measure the spacing between the screws on the bottom?
