has anyone used a montana rifleman action seems to be a smaller company just wondering if they are worth looking at or should i stick with the surgeon , bats , etc.

do you think it would be cost effective to use a 700 action that i allreay have or would it just be better all around to buy a custom action and go that way? such as a big horn action? or there is allways the idea of just building the rifle how it is in 7mm rum.

anyone have any first hand dealings with this rifles chambered in 7mm rum or 300 rum? is it a good rifle to start a build off for elk? i have heard the bolts are not as good as the ones they have in the bdl or cdl just want to see if there is any truth to this. thanks alot.

so i have looked into a few differnt more affordable rifles i still cant decide on the one to choose. rem 700 sps 7mm rum, rem 700 sps 300 rum and the savage long range hunter 6.5x284 norma i have shot my dads 300 rum several times the recoil doesnt bother me but i do hear alot of talk about...

i see that savage chambers there new long range hunter in this round i was wondering what kind of an elk killer this could be say out to 700 yds i havent read much about this round but i would think it be to small for much more than white tail or antelope but i saw a comment on another site that...

I understand all that i guess what i meen is can you get to the point wehre you have such a heavy/long barrel that it doesnt help or it actually hurts accuracy?

Ok i have been siting here really thinking alot about the barrel for my rifle and i was wondering can the contour be to big or a barrel be so long so that it will make it less accurate or can it be just over kill to the point that makeing it larger and thicker that it wont increase the accuracy...
