    Optics Planet

Guess I’m lucky. I’ve bought scopes and other accessories from Optics Planet over the last few years with no issues. A couple of back orders, but filled as scheduled. Last order probably 9 months or more ago. Just my experience.

    Hunting with Glasses

For years before cataract surgery, I wore distant correction contact in right eye (dominant), reading correction in left eye, worked great after a week +/- acclimation. Same setup for lenses when I had surgery. Have glasses to match left eye to distant, but never wear them. You might want to...

Anyone ever hear of this company?

Looks like they may be trying to ride on Ronnie Barrett’s name--real store is in Murfreesboro, TN. But no actual Barrett-made firearms on site you showed. Tell them you want to make a personal visit and buy something from stock. ftm

Well boys got scammed on gunbroker(possibly resolved)

Not my experience at all; a number of purchases over at least 12 years, from both dealers and individuals have all been in full legal compliance.

Did I really mess up my first bedding attempt

I know there are others as well, but Ernie the Gunsmith has excellent illustrated tutorials on action and pillar bedding. Has materials available also. Followed his directions on a Rem 700 .243 and it turned out great. highly recommend you check his site.

    Portable shooting Benches

I second the vote for knotholedesigns table. Folds easily, sturdy, put in my Kawasaki Mule and head to the field behind my house. Set the bench up, chrono and scope on tripods. Quick, easy, stable. Nicely made, reasonably priced. Mine is 3+/- yrs old.

    1917 Eddystone Rebuild?

WYO... “Chuck in Denver” specializes in 03 barrel replacements and other refurbishments. My son gave me a yard-sale special, had it a few years then sent it to Chuck. Criterion barrel, replaced bolt. Reasonable prices and fast service. Only shot it a few times but love it. Learned close order...

    REM-AGE builds

Tried a NSS trued action, Criterion varmint barrel, NSS nut, Timney trigger, Magpul Hunter. First try: MOA or slightly better, 220 yds, 13* downhill, PigSaddle/tripod, standing, first loads. It shoots way better than I do. May build another, or try a .308 Win on this on, after I rebuild my budget.

Strategic Edge Gun Range - Tennessee?

Welcome to TN! Heat and humidity are topics of most summer conversations: “Hot today, ain’t it?” “Yep, but it’s the humidity that really gits you.” “Right, but it ain’t as bad as last year.” (That’s just openers, usually goes another 10 minutes minimum.) I’m abt miles NW of Nashville, farm so...

    Bedding?

Check out: erniethegunsmith.com. Lots of info on pillar bedding and action bedding. Detailed photos. Did a Rem 700 wood stock his way. Great results. Also, Midway has videos on their site. Brownells has materials at reasonable prices, but everybody seems to have their own favorite material. A...

Ar10 6.5 creedmore vs bolt gun

Another option to add to the confusion. Why not both? Build or buy an AR-10 to your liking and put the UPR 6.5 CR bolt action upper on it. These are quality uppers available in .308, 6.5 CR, maybe a couple more. I have the AR-15 uppers in .224 Valkyrie and .223 Wilde. Have some feed issues...
