    Mk5hd vs NXS

I have recently had a NXS 2.5-10x42 mil-r and A leupold Mark 5 3.6-18x42 tremor 3. Out of the two optics I prefer the Mark 5. I like the Mark 5 3-18 a lot. If they had a reticle like the mil-c I would have the Mark 5 still. The Tremor 3 is not my thing and I don’t particularly care for the TMR...

    Optic help

I second the bushnell LRTS from cameraland. I have one that I’ve used for the past 3 years. It gets tossed in the pickup and rides on the tractor with me without issue. Glass is great and does well in low light throughout legal shooting time in Oklahoma. I have gone through many scopes and have...

    Tango6 Should I buy?

I have a Tango 6 4-24 MRAD reticle like the one you purchased. I think it’s a nice scope especially for the price they are going for on the used market. The glass is good, but not quite what my AMG glass is. I like the simplicity of the MRAD milling reticle, I wish that leupold would update the...

    Nightforce 2.5-10X42 Mil-R

Good Condition. I traded for this. It has Some ring marks on it and that’s pretty much it. Turrets are excellent but I prefer FFP in my scopes. It’s very light. I’d trade for a Leupold Mark 5 with TMR or a Sig Tango 6 4-24x50 with MRAD milling reticle. Tract Toric Mil/Mil. Or similar. Asking...

    Stocks.

I have a manners T6A on order for the added adjustability for use on my match rifle and my wife being able to use it more ergonomically. I’ve had a B&C M40 on my .223 Tikka for the past 3 years without complaint. It has served me well hunting coyotes and ringing steel to impressive distances...

    Cheap tactical scopes (MIL turret)

The bushnell will be pretty nice and the reticle is also a good reticle for hunting and target shooting. Cameralandny has really good prices on the Bushnell LRTS scopes. Or you could get a SWFA as your 2nd scope and they can be found for around $225 used and they usually have a Black Friday sale...

New scope for long range elk, $2000 budget

Vortex AMG 6-24 checks nearly all your requirements. I have one and it has been excellent for a crossover match and hunting rifle. I have taken coyotes and deer from 75 yards to 700 yards. Per your listed requirements... Zoom range is 6-24 power with good glass. Adequate adjustment range...

Scope ideas for hunting and Long Range Shooting

The leupold mark 5 is a fine scope. I have had 2 with different reticles. Both tracked fine. I have one on my .223 that bumps around on the tractor and farm pickup with me. I feel like I can recommend them. For a hunting scope I’d go with the PRS reticle if you are an MOA guy TMR if MIL. With...

Fantastic Price on Bushnell Elite Tacticals

Every bushnell Elite tactical I’ve used or have seen in use track very well. The LRTS is a benchmark for low light (dusk and dawn) shooting in our shooting group. I’ve shot coyotes that I couldn’t see without the optic on more than 1 occasion and they looked pretty darn clear. I have nicer...

    Leupold Mark5HD Rings

I’m using ARC M-10 rings on my tikka with the MK5 3.6-18 scope. I think they are the best scope ring available. I’ve used Warne mountain techs and they are nice as well but are not as simple to mount the scope in as the M10 rings.

New scope for the new rifle

The vortex razor is a nice scope. They track well and are robust. Outside of the razor series I wouldn’t buy a vortex. Razor Gen 2 scopes are heavy though so that’s something to consider. I have an AMG and like it very much I went with it to save weight. Nightforce has the new NX8 scopes coming...

    Question about 140ELD-M/ AB App

I have trued the 140 ELD to .300 G7 in my kestrel with AB as well at a MV of 2815 in my Creedmoor. The 130 ELD we trued a similar BC at a MV of 2900 at the same distance. I’m shooting the 140 because it’s easier to find in bulk and shoots well in my rifle.

    Scope Recommendations

I have a vortex AMG 6-24 MRAD. I’ve had it for a year. I’ve used it for Deer, coyote hunting and PRS/NRL match shooting and I have only grown to like it more the more I use it. The reticle is visible for me throughout the entire power range and it’s tracked true for me to 1440 yards. Many...
