What age were your kids when they shot there first big game animal.

Yeah, he loved it. I have some great memories of hunting with him as he has grown up.

My son was 8. It wasnt legal for him to handle or fire a rifle in Australia until he is 12. But while we were visiting my friend on his farm in Namibia he go a chance to go hunting. We had him practice for a few days with a 222 Rem, then he had an opportunity at this wildebeest with a 325WSM.

    SIG Tango 4

Well, I hope these scopes are good, because I bought 2 of them yesterday. I will report back on them once I get a chance to use them. Hopefully I will hunt with one of these on my 338 edge next month.

    SIG Tango 4

We have pretty good pricing on the Tango 4 line of scopes here right now and I am considering either a 3-12X42 or a 4-16x44 for a rifle that will be used for hunting out to 1000 yards. I have tried researching these scopes, but cant find mush good feedback on line. Most reviews I have found are...

    Gemsbok Oryx

I have shot 8 or so gemsbok in Namibia. Ranges were generally around 350 yards. I used a 300 mag with 180gn accubond bullets. All but one were shot in the shoulder, and all were on shot kills. I was very happy with the performance of the Accubond.

260AI for Tahr and Red Stag?

Hi MT I don't think you will have any problem with the 260AI. I would take it on your trip without a second thought.

Who has contributed the most to the sport we love...

I agree the guys in Pennsylvania behind the Williamsport club were early influencers on the development of long range shooting, and many of the members were very hard core long range hunters. I think we also need to credit Kenny Jarret and his "beanfield rifles". I saw a number of articles in...

    Applied Ballistics Pro Support Thread

I just recently bought Applied Ballistics for my android phone, but have been tearing my hair out trying to get the "look angle" option to automatically calculate my shot angle. There only seems to be the option to manually input the angle, but no way for the phone/app combo to calculate it.

    bat action tight!

Yes, definitely. But if you just lighten the spring, you risk erratic firing pin strike. Thats why the mod with additional weight on the firing pin is needed.

    bat action tight!

I can’t agree that this is not a common issue. Based on my experience in competition circles, it is very common to find this issue. I have discussed it with a number of shooters, and there are many BR gunsmiths doing modifications to firing pins and/or firing pin springs on BAT actions. As I...

    bat action tight!

Mate, I dont work for BAT, I am just telling him what I think is the cause and how to fix it. I also told him to start by shooting the action, as it is quite possible that shooting it alone will solve the issue.

    bat action tight!

No, there is nothing "wrong" with your firing pin. What you are describing has 2 causes. Firstly, this will smooth up with firing as the bolt lugs bed into the action and the bolt internal mating surfaces in the bolt wear against each other. However (cause no 2) you are also feeling the...
