I research this a couple years ago and from what I found out you’ll never see a cross in a magnum caliber, because there’s not enough material in the receiver to handle the pressures. You’re basically stuck with 308 caliber/similar pressures.

Take a look at the new 6.8 western, Probably going to get a longer barrel life out of that then the 27 Nosler.

I think the 7-300 has a slightly longer neck and a shorter burn column , making it a little easier on barrel life as well as slightly less barrel heat up when shooting several shots.

Lefty, are you using 82 grains in both Reloader 25 and 26? If so a 200 fps is really impressive. Hopefully I will get to test my hand loads on Friday.

I just got my Savage re barreled with a 28" Benchmark 270 WSM throated for 165 matrix. I can't find Reloader 33 anywhere but I can get my hands on Rloader 26. I read they have similar properties, but canot find any info on RL 26. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
