    Thanks, it occurred to me that I can use H4895 and do the reduced load (60%) thing and start around 25 to 27 grains or so.

    Hi folks, I picked up a 1950 vintage Savage 99 for my left handed wife. It has a 1 in 14 twist barrel and the only bullets I can find are 67 grain Hammer hollow point. I am at a loss for powder type and charge. Can anyone wi quick charge help me out? thanks D

    What type of bullet did you use on your last elk?

    I shot this guy (my avatar) at about 80 yards. Muzzle velocity is 2950 fps, 7mm rem mag, 160 gr accubond. 1st shot through the lungs and he stood there like is that the best you got. Adjusted forward and put one through the onside leg and down he went...about another 150 yards straight down...

    Ruger Hawkeye 338 RCM. Bushnell 3-9 elite W/ 600 doa reticle. 225 Nosler AB. My Back up is a Ruger M77 MkII .280 rem. It has a Redfield Battlezone 6 -18. Shooting 150 NLRAB.
