Need help with Hornady 178 ELD-M for 308.

Exactly, 12 or faster. So as I said earlier 12 twist is probably the minimum. Saying the 178 needs a 12 twist is not true. It needs minimum of 12, and faster should be better. Furthermore, saying 1.3 or 1.4 is stable is also not true. It may shoot well, but only has marginal stability. And it...

Need help with Hornady 178 ELD-M for 308.

According to Bryan Litz, 1.5 or above for stability factor. Below 1.5 is marginal. Berger twist rate calculator is my go to. I trust the science from the guy that designs the bullets.

Need help with Hornady 178 ELD-M for 308.

What is this based on? I would say it needs a minimum of 12 twist, but don't think it's best. In fact it is on the slow side. I shoot it in 11.25 and 10 twist equally well.

Looking for insight on blown primers

You definitely have some differences between the 2 brands. IMI is growing g a lot at the base. Check the actual thickness of the rim if possible and I would suggest firing a few rounds in another gun. Maybe even a bolt gun where you can feel for lock-up

Looking for insight on blown primers

I think someone needs to start a thread on the difference between rimmed, rimless and rebated. 🙄

Looking for insight on blown primers

I am very curious as to the actual cause of your issues with the IMI ammo. I wonder if you have the ability to accurately take some measurements of the IMI and FGMM brass. I would like to know if there is a difference, particularly in cartridge base to shoulder distance. The "headspace"...

    375 EnABELR Build

If I had to guess, I would say you talked to Zack. He's a great guy with a lot of knowledge. I actually consider him a good friend and we shoot together often. Unfortunately, he doesn't work there any longer. He was the go to for customer support.

    375 EnABELR Build

I do not shoot the EnABELR suppressed. Also, while I have used the new die, and the brass looks much better, I have not yet tried to shoot it. Hopefully I will get the time in the next week or so. Btw, Peterson Cartridge was great, and helped me out by inspecting my brass using an optical...

Looking for insight on blown primers

I would absolutely not use that ammo. It appears you are getting blow by past the primer, indicating a potentially dangerous pressure situation. Contact IMI, and see what they say. Either way, don't use that ammo, a stronger buffer is not going to help. The other possibility is you have...

    375 EnABELR Build

That table is the only load info I could find last year. I had a buddy run it through QL and it wanted me to start at 136gr. I landed at 132.2gr of 24N41, .012" off the lands. My 5 shot SDs were around 5 fps at 3035. The problem I and many others have encountered is in the resizing process...

    375 EnABELR Build

I'm currently running 379gr Berger solids with 132.2gr of VV 24N41 and getting 3035fps from 32" barrel. I am very impressed with this round.

    243/6mm rifle build...thoughts?

If you don't want to buy new dies and brass, stick with the 243 Win. If you would like to take advantage 21st Century advancements, go with the 6GT. I have not found a drawback to it, unless you're worried about factory ammo. The GT is extremely easy to do load development for. You have...

    Beating a dead horse

You are going to have to decide what is most important and what you are willing to make some sacrifices on. It's obviously not feasible for scope manufacturers to offer every option that every end user might want. So make a list of your "needs" in order of importance and understand that any...
