Thanks guys. Everyone has been super helpful. I ended up picking up a Zeiss v4 4-16 30mm on Europtic for only $649 (new). The only thing is the reticles are non-illuminated. Any thoughts on good base and light weight rings? Is a picatanny base best?

My only concern with the VX3HD is I don’t think they have parallax adjustment. Do they?

Weight isn’t #1. I just don’t want a very heavy scope since that would defeat the purpose of an light rifle I would like the ability to dial. I do a lot of long range bench shooting, but these are light weight alpine hunting rifles so I know I wouldn’t do as much, but would like the ability...

I was looking at the leupold VX3D 4.5-14x40 or the Vortex Viper HST or HSLR 4-16 x 50. But the reviews are mixed.

I just bought a Savage 110 ultralight in 7 PRC. I am looking for the best optic under $1000 that is relatively light weight and decent quality. Reading a lot of conflicting things out there. Any recommendations?
