I just added a .243 to my line up. Anybody have any advise on the loads?
Im currently loading h4350 and 105 Amax. Im getting around 2800fps out of a 24" Krieger 1-8 twist. Is there anyone out there with a similar set up. If so what powder are you seeing best results with 105s.
Of course...
After fire forming they all did chamber a little stiff some more than others. Im sure this was due to the unevenly annealed part of the neck that was sized down into the shoulder 30-06 to 6.5-06 being a little softer than the rest of the shoulder. I too follow similar steps for bumping them back.
I bumped the shoulders after fire forming 1-1/2thou off the gun... some of which needed to be bumped more than others which leads me to believe there was an inconsistence in my brass given my powder charges were consistent. Even though the human error factor that could cause this is very likely...
And no I am not offended in anyway no apology needed B23. I just should have giving more background.. I can see though sometimes others post without reading the question it a terrible epidemic on sites like this. Thanks again
Thanks for all the advise..I will be contacting Lapua maybe they can shed some light on this. Im pretty positive the shoulders where sized correctly according to my chamber specs. which I obtained through the gunsmith/Reemer manufacture. I always use the proper comparator to measure the cases.
It is entirely possible that I could have worked one or two of the brass more than they others. but without knowing which ones I guess my only option is to replace the whole lot. Also this is not an Ackley Improved its a 6.5-06 A-Square . standard 17degree shoulder. thanks for the advise though
It failed at the web. I did bump the brass as it needed. I did this mainly for uniformity. necks where turned down to .0135" giving me a loaded neck diameter of .291-1/2" or 2-2.5 thou" neck clearance. which has worked well for me in the past. It just seems like there may be a defect with my...

I used to use Winchester nickel plate stuff in my 30-06 got a dozen or so load out of them before they were shot. It is definitely harder than just plain brass but It seemed to last longer with max loads. I would not hesitate to use them again.
Im running 47.0 of IMR4350 through my 6.5-06 through a 26" 1-8" brux getting me around 2940 - 2950 fps Ive gone up to 49gr but seems my load was nice a 47.0 with 140 bergers . I would imagine you could probably get up to the low 50grs in an AI.... probably start at like 45.5 and work up from...
