    Which Sleeping Bag

Western Mountaineering Badger and an Exed Downmat insulated mat with snozzle bag to inflate it. Worth every penny. A WM bag is rated for comfort not survival so you’re comfortable at 20* not shivering through the night. Take care of your WM bag and it will last 20+ years and if it starts to lose...

    How to blowup your rifle

My thoughts are that a weak primer combined with extremely low temperature and hard to light Retumbo created a hang fire. The initial fire pushed the bullet hard into the barrel then stopped then the rest of the powder lit off in an under filled situation with a lodged bullet. All happened in a...

    Rotary tumbler

I use the dash of Dawn and a dash of Lemishine mix. I rinse in cold water and then drop them in a bowl of water treated with a little Lemishine and I don't get spots or tarnish. I heat them in the oven on a baking sheet to dry. Someone mentioned not needing to lube the necks but I have found...

    6.5 saum 4s

Daveinjax, There is no 'if' at all. Retumbo, while a great powder, is too slow for this case. The newer version of H-1000, IMR-7977 is supposed to be the powder of choice being the Enduron formulation. Regards. Sable Tireur , after burning close to a pound of H1000 and a hundred...

    6.5 saum 4s

Whatever you want to call it the 6.5 saum is a great performer. I've been hearing that the 6.5 saum / 6.4 4S brass will be in stock soon since last spring. I'm not holding my breath and anyone getting into this should plan on sizing down from the parent cases and IF gap comes through with...

    6.5 saum 4s

The 4S stands for "super secret squirrel ****" and no , I'm not kidding. I shoot the 6.5 saum which is the same thing. 6.5 4S is GAP's reamer versions. It's a great design but I'm running a much longer freebore to take advantage of my longer magazine and long 150gr and 160gr bullets. The GAP...

Lee Neck sizing collet die and neck tension?

As has been stated before. Sand the mandrel down a little and keep the necks annealed and you'll be good to go. I'm running .0025 tension. As the necks harden they will spring back more and you will loose tension so annealing often keeps this issue at bay.

Berger to introduce 7mm 195 gr EOL Hybrid Hunting Bullet

Coming soon , any day now , will not disappoint blah blah blah. When the last 300 or so Bergers on my bench are gone I will be finished with rifles that use Bergers in their load. The rifle that still shoots them will be rebarreled and there won't be Bergers in the new loads. Got tired of...

    Floorless tents and tarps

The Sawtooth and medium ti oval stove will weigh approximately 6.5 lbs. I thought long and hard about buying the ti oval but took the added pound and went with the ti wifi by ti goat. Not absolutely sure I made the right decision but I have circulation problems in a couple of fingers when they...

    Floorless tents and tarps

I've used my Sawtooth for the last two years and it's one of the few items in my pack that isn't up for replacement. The medium ss box stove is packable and I have for two years but I bought a ti wifi for this season. I haven't weighed the new stove with the Sawtooth but about 7.5 lbs for a warm...

    7MM WSM or 7MM RSAUM

I don't know that Winchester has permanently dropped making the 7mm wsm brass but they haven't made a run since the start of the sandy hook run on everything but they haven't made a lot of low volume cases since then. I bought three boxes of loaded 7mm wsm to pull down and then found 220 pieces...

    7MM WSM or 7MM RSAUM

For a Remington sa go with the saum and install a wyatts extended magazine box. It will get you 2.95" in the magazine. I have a 7mm wsm being barreled now but it's on a MRC 1999 action which will give me the room in the magazine to seat 168gr vlds with the base at the body/shoulder juction and...

7 WSM VS SAUM bolt face

    WSM Casing life

The Winchester brass is tough but you need to anneal the necks to keep them from splitting. My Winchester wsm brass has held their primer pockets like nothing else. Norma on the other hand has given up the pockets in three firings.

    Reloder 26 + 150gr Matrix vld in a 6.5 rsaum data ?

I was off early today and stopped by a LGS I never frequent and low and behold I found some rl26. Sweet ! I rush home to load up some in my 6.5 rsaum and realize I have absolutely no starting point. I looked at 7mm wsm data and 270 wsm data and I'm thinking 58grs lit by cci 250's behind my 150...
