SAUM’s Share yours from Hunting or Comp. Pics Heavy !!

À couple of weeks ago waiting for a deer to come out. I actually saw one at 370m but on a crest line and a bit too much side wind for me to take a clean and safe shot.

Anyone shot deer with the 190grn Sub-x at 1050ish fps??

Young fallow (45lb) shot at 30m in her sleep. Bullet went in high on right shoulder came out through opposite side in the guts and stopped into back leg bone. Died on the spot. But I have not always been as lucky with the sub x in the past.

    6.5 haters

I don’t know if it comes from the tactical training scene or what, but since I watched an old Magpul training video a few years back I noticed that more and more guys are pressing their right fist into their left hand as if they were going to shoot a handgun During their videos. More so if they...

    300 win mag 178 ELDx

My accurate load used to be 68 gr of 4831sc , in norma brass , with a federal large rifle primer ( not magnum) and 178 gr a-max. The only issue with it was something a delayed ignition in very cold weather ( under 5 degrees Celsius ). Which was not an issue for me since the majority of my...

    Better Groups At Distance

So we could explain the phenomenon of the bullet being more accurate at longer range by: 1: being more focused at the longer distance . or 2: the bullet going to sleep ( although it seems that Brian litz has debunked that one.) but what about positive compensation ? when you look at how rimfire...

    Removing a Tikka Barrel

Tikka barrels are some of the easiest to remove. I have done dozens and dozens. The trick is to have an aluminium sleeve matching very well the tapered contour close to the breach. My barrel clamp(2” bore diameter) goes over that sleeve. You can adjust the position of the barrel in relation...

    Electro Chemical Machined rifling

Ritter and stark have done it: The R&S rifling process is propriety and secret and is done using ECM without introducing any stresses on the barrel and is extremely versatile as to what rifling and rate of twist can be incorporated into any barrel. Runout on the barrel is kept to within 0.02mm...

    Fierce Rifles

Their action are reasonably good ( fierce edge titanium ) but I would stay away from their carbon wrapped barrel. The bore consistency of two I measured was shocking: in 30 cal, a 0.3002 pilot would fit tight from the breach end, then go loose once it passed the beginning of the carbon section...

    Tikka Stock

And the bolt notch in the action should line up with notch in the stock, like bang on.

    Sig kilo 10 k

From a purely viewing aspect, I had the chance to compare thesis 10k and the Leica. The Leica are definitely superior to the sig with the Colors way more pronounced. A red with the naked eye becomes very vivid with the Leica but with the sig it is deemed down to a brownish color. As for the...

    Barrel Threading

The US gun industry really needs a shake up in term of the thread options it offers to its consumers. Most European suppressor manufacturers are able to offer their products in the following threads: 1/2-20,1/2-28,13x1,14x1, 9/16-24,15x1, 5/8-24 ,16x1, 17x1, 18x1 , 18x1.5 ,3/8-24...etc A cnc...

    New Remington Alpha 1, M700

I do not doubt your competencies or the time it takes your machine to remove all that material so quick. I too work in a machine shop. We are manufacturing 7075 aluminium components which are rather simple in design compared to a rifle bolt, and even at full speed we can not make them faster...
