    How temp effects load development...?

Thanks, that's what I was wondering. I'll work on summer vs winter loads. Gonna leave some loaded rounds on the porch tonight and see how they shoot tomorrow. I'm 1.5 grain below book max with the 7828, that should help a little in hot weather. My rifle doesn't seem to like the retumbo so far.

    How temp effects load development...?

I'm tweaking a load for my 300 rum this afternoon, using 165 accubonds. Currently using IMR7828. I also have retumbo, h1000, rl22 and rl25 on hand. I'm overthinking the whole cold vs warm temp issue, I hope, but wanted to ask you all to be sure. I'm loading ammo here in the 65 degree house...

    SOLD/EXPIRED Browning 1885 45-70

That's a nice rifle. I had one once, I should never have traded it. Wish I had the cash for this one.

    Blackhorn 209 question

I would agree with encore, you can leave it loaded and fouled the whole season with no problems at all. I do. The two fouling shots are important, I have missed deer when I forgot to dirty it up. Blackhorn is great powder.

Hornadys SST muzzleloading bullets in .45 cal

I shoot the .50 cal sst in my omega. Best performing bullet I have found for it. Blows deer down in a pile. Great expansion and energy transfer. Good groups at 250 yards, usually get a big exit hole, and deer usually never take another step. I hunt the marsh a lot, and I don't like blood...

Which ammo for elk? 300 rum

Thanks. I'm torn between just buying a box of factory ammo, like these two, or trying to work up a load. I've considered accubonds, sciroccos, and partitions. I have a deadly load for my local whitetails, shooting 168 CT ballistic silvertips. I've also got a load for 190 bergers that the rifle...

Which ammo for elk? 300 rum

Can't decide between federal's 200 gr nosler partition load and Remington's 180 scirocco. Won't be shooting more than 500 yards. 300 yards is probably more realistic. Preferences?

    308 ar hunting load

I've had really good luck with Hornady Superformance ammo in my DPMS LR308. Mine likes the 150 gr SST's. I shoot a lot of crop damage with it, the SST's put deer down in a pile at 400 yards like a champ. Tried a few other loads for it, but for the money, convenience and performance, this load is...

    Good Low Light Binoculars

I've been using the Vortex Razor 8.5x50. Been very pleased with their low light performance.

    FILM: 37 deer with 6,5x284

I like it! Makes me want to try to film my own crop damage hunts. Like the suppressor too.

    AR-10's and lrh

I use a DPMS LR308 pretty often for shooting deer on crop permits. I don't shoot it beyond 450 yards. I usually set up within 350 to 400 yards of the woods line, and try to shoot each deer as soon as it enters the field. Mine likes the hornady superformance 150 SST's. One shot kills, dumps them...

    AR-15 Triggers

I recently had the Geissele Super 3 Gun installed in my DPMS LR308, it made a tremendous difference over the factory trigger. I like it alot.

What 22LR is you favorite past 100yds?

I've got a winchester 52C with a tasco 8-32x with the 1/8 min. target dot reticle. Its a heavy rifle, but it will kill aspirin tablets and empty 22 brass at 100 yards. Its the most fun rifle I've got to target shoot with off a bench, got about a 12oz trigger. I like to hunt with a winchester...
