Here is my favorite coyote gun. Savage 110 action, Shillen 26in bull barrel, Harris bipods and toped off with a 6-18X40 Nikon buckmasters. I shoot 70gr NPTs at 3750 fps. Groups around 1in at 300 and shoots really well to 650 around 700 it starts to get a bit iffy.... Longest kill 721 yards...
Iv'e used a lot of 70 gr NBTs at 3750 fps. I have had pretty good luck with it. I'm not saying I never ruin a pelt but I can keep about 4 out of every 5 or so. I have killed coyotes out to 721 yards and as close as 10 yards with this load.
I bought a new Browning .300 Win Mag. I plan on using it for a long range deer/coyote rifle. I want it to shoot about 800 yards or so for deer and 1000 yards + on targets. Deer season is in three weeks so I need to figure this out fast...gun)
Here is what I want... A scope >$500 that...
I bought a .204 ruger the other day after nearly "vaporizing" a bobcat with my custom .243 in Jan. I have almost no experience with this cal but I was hoping for some input. I want a load that I can shoot a cat or fox in the chest, and not ruin the pelt. I'm not sure if I'm dreaming or not...
I have a 22-250 and a 243. A 243 will shoot a 55gr bullet at 4000fps with a max load and a 22-250 will shoot the same bullet at about 3700 with a max load. You will have a bettet BC with a .22 cal bullet but I don't think It makes up for the speed of a .243. Just my 2 cents.....gun)
I used point blank. At 500 it says 32.95in and 2443.79 fps. At 1000 yards it says 212.37in drop and 1963 fps. I don't know what altitude your at so I put in 4600 feet above sea level.

I use Mill dots to shoot out to 800 yards. In good conditions I can cold bore a milk jug at 800. I use a LRF and not the dots for range finding its easy to use milldots if you know your target size the formula is: Size of target in inches X 27.77 / Mill reading= Distance to target in yards...
