    internal box mag hurting accuracy?

I've got a half MOA remington 700 that i just dropped into new stock. Note: I've taken the barreled action in a out of the stock a few times to adjust the trigger. The stock upgrade didn't really help or hurt accuracy, but the ergo is much better. Anyway, I hit the range yesterday and the...

6.8 SPC 110v-max and bthp powders

IMR 8208 XBR cheaper than varget (usually by about 5$ around here) Accurate Temp stable Good velocity in short barrels 16-18" extremely low velocity standard devation and extreme spread in my 16". Helps that it gives you full case capacity without going over maximum pressure. My loads...

Anyone using iphone ballistics programs for shot angle?

+1 for iSnipe. Thought about switching to "shooter", but i'm getting accurate results and dont want to fix something that isn't broke.

    Millett Scopes

I used that same optic until a recent upgrade. I was able to take it out to 650 consistently, but the glass was too foggy and the turrets too mushy/incorrect to get reliable hits beyond that.

    Harris BIPOD which size?

For your purposes 9-13 for sure and def go with the pivot model. I started with a static 6-9 and it was never sufficient height for hunting. 13" will get you above most grasses and you can add a larger rear bag to accommodate.

Sierra match king's as a hunting bullet

I've taken two deer at 220 and 250 respectively with 168 smk's. Both DTR.

    308 Amax problem ?

You dialing or holding over? How much wind you shooting in? You sure your scope is level when your firing?

    temperature changes

7" isn't likely a temp change in this scenario. What scope you using? I've had similar issues because my turrets wouldn't dial in a repeatable, consistent manner.

    Looking for a good rangefinder.

Second on the Leica 1600 to start with, but if you're set on some less expensive maybe look into the leupold TBR series. To get 600 yards consistently on game look for a rangefinder that is rated out to 800 or so. Luckily this kind of technology is getting cheaper rapidly.

    case necks scratched

Well, i got a little impatient and decided to go with the sandpaper. I wrapped 1500 grit sandpaper around a .22 caliber soft bore brush and clamped it into my electric drill. Slid it into the neck portion of the sizing die and hit the trigger. As soon as the resistance softened i pulled it...

    Belted casings questions

How long has it been since you cleaned the chamber? My rem 700 started doing the same thing a few weeks ago. The bolt would lift fine after firing, but the casing was stuck in the chamber. After the casing cooled i could eject it without problem. It occurred to me that i had just cleaned...

    case necks scratched

On my their last trip through my RCBS competition sizing die all my brass came out with scratched necks. The scratches are on the exterior and cover the entire circumference of the necks. I went ahead and cleaned the die really well and ran some more brass through with the same results. Looks...

do i trust my chrono or group size?

Second on the chrono misreads. If you're happy with the accuracy head on back 700-1000 yards and true the trajectory when you get a chance. I know not everyone has 1000 in their backyard, but it's def worth doing. If your vertical stringing is really tight at these distances then you know your...

    RCBS competition dies

Will my .308 RCBS competition seating die seat for .300 Win Mag? I'm using the extended length shell holder for .308. If i use a standard shell holder can I back the micrometer off enough to make it useful for .300wm? Has anyone ever tried this?
