Epoletna
My bench is 1/4" plate steel on heavy wall 4x4 box tube frame i don't have any movement at all so thats why I haven't noticed but it would be impossible to get any flex on the zero press without a cheater pipe on the handle its truly a monster of a press
I load up to 300 win on a 550 progressive
But I don't load for a 50 bmg I would check out the area 419 zero press it will load 50 bmg its a redding press on steroids its not a progressive press but does have a moving turret so once you have the dies set they won't need to be moved again and...
I had a friend that said he used to hang old oxygen cylinders with the bottom cut off said it sounds like ringing a bell I haven't tried it but it might be a good project . I don't know what steel there made of but being a cylinder might be pretty tough to shoot a hole in one
I use a mighty armory decap die
Whidden full length bushing sizer die
21st century expander mandrel
Wilson inline seating die with the berger stem
Run out is generally .0002 or less
I also clean up the necks and trim to uniform length on new brass and
Anneal before every reload
After looking...
At the very least I run new brass through a mandrel to uniform the necks before fire forming loads . have you measured the case id ? Would be interesting to know. I have experienced deformation similar to that but it was on 7mm that had been reloaded 6 times and not annealed . also I am a big...
I would go with a short 308 and 101 grn hammer hunter almost zero recoil and will kill anything on four legs out to 400 yds . I have a 7mag that I'm working on a mild load for the hammer 113 grn bullet for my daughter she's 15 and is under a half moa with the Sierra 125 grn at 300 yds but I...
I carry 40 in the truck, 6 in the carrier velcro'd to the bottom of the bino carrier ,two velcro'd to the side of the rifle at the chamber and 3 in the mag one in the pipe . I thought I carried to many bullets until now. Almost forgot 16 rounds of 460 roland when I'm in bear country like most...
Any thoughts on an Arbor press and Wilson inline seating die ? If seating is the issue it will solve the run out problem that and a mandrel die to set neck tension
The kids hound .he has a toothy smile but the dog is amazing if I can get him to quit being gun shy and possibly get a down coat for him he would be an excellent hunting partner he's a cherneco del Etna a Sicilian sight hound fast as hell but likes the heat not a good match for montana in...
Take a look at modular evolution bipods I have tried Harris and still own a bt but being able to stack legs and shoot from prone to sitting with a simple leg addition has been a game changer for me ( I haven't been fortunate enough to go prone with all the tall sage brush ) most of my shots on...
