Hi all- kinda wondering, the 7mm mag case trim length, max length is at 2.5" - checked afew fired rounds here and they are all exactly at 2.5 after being fired (tikka t3x)..
I was trimming back to 2.490-2.495 (almost 200 rounds now with no adverse issues) - but wondering if i could just stick...
My question is the gn loads - member above is telling me 56 is setting up for failure and im trying to understand the variation from books to what is being posted.. so far all the data shows loads around 52-58 for N160.. i dont have the means to measure this stuff but we are planning to go and...

The info posted here for the same bullet reflects similar values that Vit165 on their site, the n160 is on average a few grains less..
This guy got gr8 results 62gr 150 barnes on N160.. uim thinking of doing some 56gr loads and comparing with the 58 i made last week-...
Hi - back at the reloading bench today.. wanted to revisit starting load info (i emailed VV for load data and waiting to hear back), but the n160 loads seem to start in the low 50s for both 150 gr bullets listed below with a max load of 59 and 60, just a pimch above my 58-

nope i was wondering if it was possible. clearly not then - i thought the 08 bolt might just take up the head space but the necking is prob different too hence the comment from belldar- was hoping with a bolt switch we could have a 2 in 1 rifle :)

Wife and I have tikka rifles in 7mm Mag.. shot my first handloaded ammo this week and it seemed to work real nice- If i order a 7mm 08 bolt for our rifles can i shoot those with the matching bolts for smaller game? The mags are overkill imo..
