From the good people at Powder Valley

Some "shooters" become "hoarders" when they realize that, however much supplies they have on hand, it may have just become their lifetime supply! What is a lifetime supply? My point exactly.

    US 869 for 300PRC?

I just got a 300 PRC rifle and I'm looking for a powder for heavy bullets (at a time when finding ANY powder is a challenge). I'm trying to resurrect this old thread, because Hodgdon now DOES publish US 869 data for the 230 gr. and 250 gr. A-Tip bullets and, even better, US 869 is the highest...

Where to find 300 PRC brass

A lot of my reloading gear has been in storage for the last three years. I'm trying to find the time to get my benches setup again now. I need to find that shell holder and measure how much I removed, because I don't recall but I'm sure it was nowhere near 0.150". I'll probably need to remove...

Where to find 300 PRC brass

Instead of milling a bit off the base of the die, I've milled a bit off the top face of a shell holder. It produces the same result--the shell holder contacts the die later and the shoulder can be pushed harder. Redding even sells sets of under-size shell holders but I used my mill to customized...

Where to find 300 PRC brass

I'm tired of waiting to shoot my new 300 PRC because of no brass so I'm thinking about ordering some Hornady 416 Ruger brass (the only viable brass I can find). I also have a full length Redding S-type 300 PRC die on order with Creedmoor, which is allegedly being held for my Lapua brass to...

    The PRC die "problem"

I assume that the Hornady design is reflected by the SAAMI spec. Regardless, the Hornady designers no doubt conveyed tolerance values to SAAMI, because tolerances are part of all proper mechanical designs. From what I've read here (I don't have any PRC brass to measure yet), Hornady and other...

    The PRC die "problem"

The SAAMI case body diameter spec is -0.008. It seems to me that the case manufacturers have plenty of room in the minus direction to fix the "problem" too, but maybe it's a matter of deciding whether they want new cases to fit the chamber well or they want fourth-time reloads to fit the chamber...

    The PRC die "problem"

That's a bummer! Well it turns out that the Forster website was lying about die availability. I phoned the Forster business office and left a message. A nice lady promptly returned my call and said they had no inventory and I'd be accepting a several months-long backorder. Creedmoor Sports'...

    The PRC die "problem"

Forster 300 PRC dies are available so I anticipate little to no backorder delay. Redding online retailers are advising multiple month delivery delays (if quoted and available for backorder at all). Furthermore, Redding seems to me to be a poor backorder wager, given that Redding is in NY state...

    The PRC die "problem"

I wish I'd found this thread a couple of days ago when I was debating Bergara B-14 HMR 300 Win Mag vs. PRC with myself! I ended up ordering the 300 PRC. :( When I first started this read, I figured no problem--I'll just chuck-up the barrel in my lathe and open up the aft end of the chamber, as...

Behind enemy lines in CA. Need to escape. Need help

Yup--I attended UCD in the late 70s and early 80s as both an undergrad and electrical engineering grad student. It's changed a lot. I can't even stand to visit the place today (and not just because of the anti-gun brainwashing environment--there's plenty of other dogma being spread to diseased...

Behind enemy lines in CA. Need to escape. Need help

Well...them's the trade-offs! Adversity protects liberty. People who know how to take care of themselves and are more self-sufficient will leave you alone! Life is too easy on the "blue coasts", as I call them. Also, when looking to relocate for liberty, don't look in areas with booming...

Behind enemy lines in CA. Need to escape. Need help

I think Idaho has longer path to even purple than just about any other state, but the media is very disconcerting, as you say. Even in Lewiston (a solid "gun town"), the Lewiston Tribune is owned by TPC Holdings / Bloomy!

Behind enemy lines in CA. Need to escape. Need help

Essentially I said the same many years ago here in the LRH forum and Len politely told me to take my opinions elsewhere. Oh yeah--I did mention the "S" word, with hope in it, and I think that's what put him off, but lots of people are talking about the "S" word now; it's become mainstream even...

    25 WSSM Purchase Help

I bought my 338 Win Mag Super Shadow and my used M70 243 WSSM off Gun Broker about six years ago. Both were $500 and I got them the same year. I've added upgraded stocks (McMillan and Hogue, respectively, because I sling-up tight, which doesn't work well with flexi-flier plastic stocks). Each...
