Has anybody done the Mescalero management hunt. Looking to get something on the calendar for 2025 if possible. I've read that the management hunts can be a little more affordable? Suggestions on outfitters/guides would be appreciated.

I really enjoyed the class. It was about 40% classroom and 60% range. We spent the 1st morning getting a tour and seeing how them made their guns and then classroom going over basics. This was also a long range hunting class not a long range shooting. They chrono'd our guns during that time and...

Thanks for the input, I don't have any equipment so I would have to purchase. I think it would be better finding a smith that could do the work after reading some posts. I have a lot of hobbies and although this interests me, with a 1.5-year old I don't think I have time right now.

looking for either caliber Prefer something with a brake and a Carbon Wrapped Barrel. This will be a hunting rifle. with or without scope. Let me know what you have.

To start with i'm thinking of doing a 300 RUM, this can be my "big game" rifle. if i enjoy the process i'll get something in a smaller caliber for "smaller" big game. i do like the CF proof barrels as that would be my 1st choice.
