Need help deciding on a scope

You will receive 20 different answers on this one. I always suggest buy the best you can get within the budget you have otherwise save up some more money then pick/buy. Side paralex adjustment too me is important. Good hunting and best of luck with the scope search.

Rookie needs help...bullet wont stay in neck

Are the brass once fired in the same rifle. If so why would you want to full length size again. Use a neck sizer die only with bushings to attain the correct neck tension.

    decision on chronograph

I find a chronograph essential in load development. For one you need your MV to calculate correct trajectories. As to which chronograph, I'll suggest you go with what you can reasonably afford. I use the Chrony Beta and this answers my needs.

Bringing in a scope to SA

Thanks westcliffe01. I should perhaps have worded my question different. For the record I have no intention of doing anything illegal, hence my "open" question, simply seeking advise.

Bringing in a scope to SA

My son who lives in NY is coming to visit us at the end of March (can't wait haven't seen him in 9 years) I have asked him to purchase me a Nikon Monarch scope and to bring it with. Has anybody followed this route before? Would there be problems with US or SA customs etc. etc. Your...

LRH Give Away Contest - Winner's choice of any Benchmark barrel

Why only US shipping. The rest of us poor buggers on the otherside of the pond are missing great opportunities. I am now so depressed I am leaving the office right away and going to my shooting range.

    Concentricity Gauge

Handloader1, thanks for the suggestion. Is there a sure fire method of squaring dies or should I go with the rubber O ring method. All input is appreciated.

    out smarted ourselves?

Its like the game of golf ( I use this as an example cause I suck at it). You have all the technology and advanced equipment out there but unless you practice, practice & practice, it all means zilch. I for one am glad we have advanced to smokeless powders and rilfe scopes. Imangine shooting...

    Concentricity Gauge

Oh well, will use those extreme runouts as fowlers. Since building those rounds I have upgraded to Redding S bushing dies and a competition seating die. I will be testing the new rounds on the Forster tool before going to the range. In case you are wondering... I am anal about case prep and...

    Concentricity Gauge

I got myself the Forster case and cartridge inspector that checks case concentricity and bullet runout. Grabbed a handfull of loads I did a while back and tested bullet runout. First 3 perfect with hardly any movement on the dial. Next 7 varied from .005 to .007. Next lot gave me .001 to .003...

    1/8" Ver 1/4" clicks

I have both types and like them equally. The 1/8" gives you a finer adjustment and works great for sport shooting and hunting. Once you have your loads chrono'd and done the trajectory calcs you're good to go irrespective of the type of scope adjustment. Just don't get mixed up :)
