140 grain bullet at 2700 fps will recoil the same in both rifles. If they are the same weight. The higher B.C. of the 6.5 will carry it's energy farther though.
I know what you are saying about the loose tolerances with Hornady bullets. I have seen a big discrepancy with their SST's., And Nosler also. In my experience Berger's are much more uniform. I have only shot four or five deer with Bergers, but all but one fell where shot. The other ones didn't...
I have plenty of regular brass. I just wanted to try the nickel to see how it works. I didn't know it was so hard. I'll probably try it with some different lube just to see what happens, but if it doesn't resize fairly easy I'll just scrap it.
