I am wanting to try it in my .270 & my .308 only with Berger bullets and am trying to figure out a safe starting charge.

Do you get a velocity boost over other powders?

Look at GA precision. They can do all that and more. Their prices are on their website. That is where I am sending my .270 they are top notch.

Did you check zero with rounds from different boxes of ammo? Perhaps someone screwed up when loading one box.

140 grain bullet at 2700 fps will recoil the same in both rifles. If they are the same weight. The higher B.C. of the 6.5 will carry it's energy farther though.

I know what you are saying about the loose tolerances with Hornady bullets. I have seen a big discrepancy with their SST's., And Nosler also. In my experience Berger's are much more uniform. I have only shot four or five deer with Bergers, but all but one fell where shot. The other ones didn't...

I haven't experienced it, but have read that a low powder charge can cause a pressure spike. Just a guess.

6.5 PRC?

Thanks for the info, but I already trashed the cases. I only had 40 of them , and I have about 300 regular brass cases for my .308.

Well I guess I'll just scrap it. Doesn't sound like its worth the hassle just for some pretty loads. Thanks all for the advice.

I have plenty of regular brass. I just wanted to try the nickel to see how it works. I didn't know it was so hard. I'll probably try it with some different lube just to see what happens, but if it doesn't resize fairly easy I'll just scrap it.
