Thanks again for all the input guys. A lot of experience and good info on this board.
I've decided to go with the Sightron SIII 6-24x50 for a scope.
The current plan is pick up a set of Burris Signature Zee rings and probably a EGW a 20 MOA rail to mount it.
Thanks for the replays guys. I appreciate it.
I've read good things about Sightron. The SIII is about the same price as the Nightforce SHV, is it better than the NF?
You both mention EGW rail but not their rings, is it best to look elsewhere for the rings?
Thanks for the heads up on...
So I finally decided to go with a Savage LRH in 6.5 Creedmoor. Thanks to all who've posted here. Your question and answers have been a huge help.
Anyway I was able to pick one up at a local gun store. I had plan dress it out as follows, but would appreciate your thoughts:

I'm looking for the same type of rifle features as JH and of the 2 LRHs I checked I could not slide a dollar bill between the barrel and for-end (ie not free floated). What's up with that!

Dosh, ykrvak, thank you both for your replies.
I'm new to the long range thing. I hear a lot about some brands Tikka and Savage are a couple, mixed reviews about Remington and others, but very little about Winchester.
Thanks again.
So some personal issues have delayed my search for my first over the counter LR rig, but I am hoping to be back on track soon.
That said I was wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the Winchester model 70 Extreme Weather?
They say it will do 1 MOA?
What are your thoughts on the...
I like your 4 gun battery, Elkwonder, and generally agree as well. I also agree rifle configuration and scope play a big part into it.
Because elk are always on the menu for me, I'd probably get a .300 WM which would replace the .280 and the .35 for me.
