Don't shoot them through the shoulder, problem solved! We killed truck loaded of elk with RUMs and 300's at the same velocity and never had one not exit from 300-1300 yards, never shot one twice never had one pencil.

Also find your jump first with the VLDs life will be better.

With 140gr + bullets all I use is Retumbo in all the 270 WSMs I've had or built, they need slower powders, than most guys try.

Ya, powder coating chips, I wore two out. They are good but better suited to change barrels not break factory barrels loose. Still was a good little vice for the money.
