Talked to Winchester years ago about reloading 410, about all they had to say was they had a 70% loss on progressive machines at plant and that is why 410 costs so much. They would just salvage them for the components and run them through one more time.
Rest rifle on top of 2 chair backs with someone holding it. Put a trigger scale in the front swivel stud and pull down till a dollar bill just starts to slide between pads and barrel. Read scale, that's your pressure on barrel. That's as close as I can get you.
With that light of a barrel I'd start with pads in. See how it shoots, if you don't like it then remove a little of the pads at a time. If nothing changes you might want to stop there.
Now that's what I wanted to hear. Was shootin a 95 Chilean Mauser over 40+ years ago that thought it was a target rifle. My cousin got me interested in the 7 Mauser back in the day and now he hasn't shot his in years. Always had a soft spot for the old cartridge. Shoots way flater than it should...
He said was built on 1938 Mauser 98 action. Plenty strong. 96 Mausers are strong as a 98 action. Just bad mouthed in USA. I have several 30-30s loaded way past standard pressures, but loads are only fired in these rifles.
I've used them on builds from 22 to 338 and have had no problems.
If I remember right stamped end is the end that you shorten, thread, and chamber from. That's on a barrel blank of course. That's how Shilen marks them.
