Pulled the trigger on a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44 LR

You will love the scope. Low rings on most rifles will do the trick. Especially on a rail.

    Vortec viper hs

I don't own one yet but my buddies have three rifles with the 4x16 HS long range viper. We have shot them several times out to 1000yds. And hunted with them this fall. Optics are good, eye relief is very good, I feel the fine cross hair allows a more precise hold at long range and I prefer the...

    AR COMP by Alliant

Shot some test loads with AR-Comp in the 6.5 Lapua with 120NBT, 130, and 140grn Berger bullets. Good stuff. Very consistent and accurate with all three bullets. Seems a touch faster burning than RL15. About 2800fps tops with the 140VLD. My rifle really liked the 140VLD. H4350 and RL17 gave me...

Vanguard series 2 or tikka t3 lite?

I have four Vangards 300WSM, 7RM, 270WSM, and 6.5 Lapua. It is a cock strong beefy action with integral recoil lug, forged one piece bolt, with a great extractor. They all shoot sub MOA at 1000yds. I can load the big bergers into the lands and still fit the mag in all four rifles. They are...

    AR COMP by Alliant

Nice! Very satisfying! Better grab a few more pounds of that same lot. LOL I will report on my luck with the 6.5 Lapua in about 2 weeks.

    OK I need help!

You have a real head scratcher on your hands. One of the rifles I chamber polished did the same thing. Bolt would rotate upward normally with no resistance but trying to pull the bolt rearward was a no go. No signs of overpressure on brass or primer. No scratches on brass to indicate a rough...

    OK I need help!

I agree, polishing the chamber is a debatable procedure. I've done it, it cured the two rifles problem, and I have witnessed no ill effects. Varmit Al gives a pretty interesting argument for the benefits on his website, from an engineers point of view. And I would think everyone would agree...

    Primers and brass?

I wouldn't hesitate to use the Remington primers. Using brass from all different brands is a no go for several good reasons. Different capacities, different neck tension= different pressures, different velocities=poor consistent accuracy. Pick the one brand you have the most pieces of and start...

    Berger vld 210 + H1000(or?) + .300RUM =?

H1000 is a good combo with the 210 Berger. You are going to give up about 100fps to Retumbo but I have to give the accuracy edge to H1000 in the 300RUM's I reload for. Getting about 3050fps in factory tubes.

    OK I need help!

Yep, I've experienced the same condition before and polishing the chamber with flitz and a shotgun bore mop solved the issue. Same condition on another rifle the chamber was so rough we had to use emery cloth and then polish with flitz.

Vortex viper 4x16X50 HS LR $439 Shipped from Liberty Optics would be a very strong option.

    300 RUM help

I reload for 3 rifles chambered in 300 RUM all shooting the 210 Berger. I could get about 100fps more velocity with Retumbo. With H1000, 3050fps was about max and the primers were pretty hammered. I would however give the accuracy advantage to the H1000.

need load info-- 300 wsm, Superformance Powder, 190 Bergers

I was running the 190 Berger at 3000fps with RL22, Norma brass, and Fed 215M in my Weatherby Vangard. Nothing to brag about for 100yd groups but consistently .7 MOA at 1000yds with most the spread going to horizontal. Vertical spread at 1000yds was usually just 2-3 inches. This is a sporter...

    AR COMP by Alliant

Guess not Tank. Curious myself. I've got a jug of it I'm going to test run in my 6.5 lapua. Should get my hands on the new lapua this month. You thinking of giving it a try in your 308?
