That's a great question.....
I would think that something with a polymer tip?? Something to help aid in expansion. SP are not the best BC bullet and are not very uniform but they open very well-almost too well. JMO
Happy Hunting
I will upset MANY people with this comment but I have had 2 PST gen 1s and both were GARBAGE!!! The PSTs are now the HSTs. IMO the gen2 is a MUCH better scope and I would sell that gen1 and get the gen2. My tracking was bad. My zero was always moving-if I dialed up for like a 800 yard shot...
Not anymore.
Go to precisionrifleblog.com and take a look for yourself. It list the "top 100". Only 1 out of the top 100 used a SFP. I look forward to apology from you **** FOR BRAINS!!!
What are you talking about???? Are you serious?
FFP is not for shooting targets??? Do you know that over 95 out of 100 of the top benchers shooters use FFP scopes????
I agree with you on touching the meplat unless you are going to use a die or trimmer made for that. The tips on most hpbt are inconsistent and ugly. The tips are hollow bc of the way they are manufactured-the process.
Your base is too high. You need a 0 MOA. There is only 45 MOA with that scope and if you have a slight cant in the action it will be too much. That scope comes with some info about this subject.
I agree with you about Berger bullets but I wonder if there is any inconsistancy in bullet manufacture??? From bullet to bullet? I love Berger, everything but the price but I have been hearing more n more negative things about them. JMO
If you are talking about SMKs for hunting I think...
I agree. Razors are dirt cheap now that the Gen 2 have come out. If you can spend the ~ 2k then NXS is the way but then why not save a few hundred more and get an ATACR?
Carl Zant at Precision Rifle Blog has a GREAT field test on his website with most of the higher end scopes. He is a...
Thanks for telling your experience.
I sort of saw terminal issues with a 338LM and and a bull. Several years ago my friend hit a bull elk 4 times with the 300 gr. Berger Hybrids 411 yds. but 3 of the 4 were poorly placed shots so I just chalked it up to that but I remember thinking that...
My apologies, after re-reading my post I see I was a little ****y this morning.
However, I don't think I was as confrontational as you say....
I appriciate everybody's input.
I have hunted/shot over 30 years. Is that not enough "experience " to make a observation or state an opinion? Of course "YOU are one of those hunters with the experience to prioritize terminal performance so please break it down for me because I am still learning. Unless I misunderstood...
My brother just bought a Rugar Precision Rifle, the new one. It's not much of a hunting rifle but out of the box. The best gun with the most features and it is so accurate... He had the CM.
