    Concentricity Adjustment and Neck Tension

This is more of a theoretical question I haven’t found the answer to... After seating a round, I always will put it in a concentricity tool, and if the runout is greater than .002, I will use the adjustment tool to straighten the round until it is less that .002. In doing that, am I creating a...

Thank you! That’s what I was after.

    Stuck case in chamber

Gents, I follow what you’re saying...Like I’ve said I do all those things and have for years. I reload in exactly that manner. What I’m asking is, is any flattening of a primer an indication that you should back off your load, or is there an acceptable amount one should expect? Additionally why...

I agree that there is flattening but do you believe any flattening to be bad? I feel that in almost all cases one could expect a certain degree of flattening but at what point do you think it becomes an absolute no go. In regards to my pictures, at 70 do you believe it to be too much? 69.5? I...

    Stuck case in chamber

Yeah, there was a member in here who has some software that computes load percentages, pressure ranges, and whether the load would be considered safe or compressed. I’m loading in .2gr increments starting at 69 and working up through 70. I’ll be checking for pressure signs along the way. I’m...

.....I could guess that the same thing happened to you, but I won’t steal your thunder haha. How do you know??

    Stuck case in chamber

I did not. This recipe out of my old barrel was at 2960. That’s been asked that a few time though. I always have only cared about accuracy and whatever the velocity was, I worked with. I chrono it after I’m happy with my grouping. That was the factory 26”. This is a proof Sendero lite 24”. This...

    Stuck case in chamber

I didnt. I had made a mistake in my original post. Im .040 of the lands. I made another dummy round at .020 off the lands and didnt have any issues with sticking or rifling marks. I think if anything, being .040 off the lands created a compressed load once I got up into the 70.5 charge. Im going...

    Stuck case in chamber

Yeah, I agree. I typically only load for accuracy and dont check velocity until I find my most accurate round. I figure whatever I can work and adjust to whatever the velocities are. I work within the min/max listed in the manufacturer data and check for pressure signs with each round.

Hahaha. Well as long as you promise not to be upset with me! I drew with 8. Douglas early hunt. So I'll be catching the tail end of the rut. Pretty pumped up.

Yeah, I had made a mistake in my original post stating that I had it seated .005 off the lands. I have it set at .040. A good example of why it's important to take good notes! Anyways, I have a bit of room to play with head space it looks like.

Yeah the barrel I have on there now is a 24" Sendero Lite Proof barrel. The previous was a factory Sendero 26".
