    Ageing White Tail

That dude is 2.5. His body still looks like a doe.

    What the heck is this?

Learn something new every day! I have NEVER seen that before, and I do a lot of work for friends on their AR platforms. Maybe I shouldn't be working on them!

    What the heck is this?

That weight is your buffer, it goes in the buffer tube in front of your buffer spring. :) The weight of the buffer, in conjunction with the stiffness of your buffer spring, is used to control the velocity of your BCG (bolt carrier group). If you shoot hot loads, you will want a heavier...

Help: every time I go to Kansas I get pulled over

And you sir, should go to college to learn some writing skills, and some people skills. I hope I never run into you, or any other LEO with your attitude (which is hard to do), on the road.

    someone using your treestand

This was a double post, but I will use this space to answer the age old questions. How do you find where they are coming from? Well, what did we do before game cameras? Fishing line across the trails points in the direction the passer by is heading. This doesn't have to be boot high...

    someone using your treestand

If it's private land, there is ALOT you can do. Here in TX, the laws being on the books doesn't mean they get enforced. Unless you keep them there until the warden arrives, they won't do anything. Typically to keep them, it is by force. This is much easier to do when not alone. When you approach...

    Not Long range

Pfft. This thing is amazing. Only on the darkest of nights is the illumintaor needed. I have yet to credit any kills to it, but for target shooting out to 250 I only use the illuminator for a final "target identification" and to be absolutely accurate on my POA. I suspect when I finally get a...

    Not Long range

But cool nonetheless. Maximum distance will be around 250. I sigthed it in at 200 and with the 2.8 magnification and non-reflective targets that is pretty much max. Maybe with glowing eyes it will give another 50 yards? New NS-D520-G2+ mounted up. Da torch IR Illuminator, and man does this...

What is the most you have heard of paid for a hunting lease ?

I have seen $3500 leases in S. Texas. Alot of times too, what a person is willing to pay is the combination of alot of factors. My boys and I went from a lease in East Texas of 150 acres for $175 a year, to 600 for $1k a year in Central Texas. Why am I willing to pay more? Several reasons...

    New 6.5x55

I ended up with 48.1 grains of H4831. I still have not done any more tests with RL22. Main reason is the temp sensitivity.

    260 Rem Vs. 6.5-06

At that rate my rifle would spend more time at the smith than on the range. I think barrel life is worth considering.

    260 Rem Vs. 6.5-06

You will have to reload for your 6.5-06 obviously. I do reload, and my choice would be 6.5-06 for just a hunting rifle. However, I just went form an '06 to a 6.5x55. Why? Barrel life. I shoot a few thousand rounds a year and the 6.5-06 wouldn't cut it in barrel life. Remeber though, you can...

    New 6.5x55

The main thing I don't like about Reliant powders is the temp sensitivity. Have you done any testing with the same load in summer and winter?

    New 6.5x55

My wife got me the B&C last year for XMAS.. I want to say it was in the $250 neighborhood delivered? ---ETA: The B&C is well worth the money. I will put one on my sons build as well. --- Here are some groups so far. I have some more that I need to post as well that took the charges up to...
