Well I was hoping to be able to run them around 2800fps. From the few that have replied it sounds like that should be pretty doable.
The main thing I am wanting to do is keep the overall length fairly short. I like to run brakes and am thinking a 22” saum with a break will be under or around...
Hey guys just ordered up a Bighorn origin LA(mag bolt face) for a lighter weight rifle build for backpacking rifle.
I am a big fan of heavy for caliber bullets and wanting to run 175-180g pills out of it.
Really liking the idea of a 22” 7 saum but have been reading a few guys saying that...
Been researching this topic for quite a while as it is what I am in the process of doing. I decided on a zermat origin in a long action. When I draw an elk tag I can spin on a 300wm pipe then when it comes time for varmint hunting I can change the bolt face and spin on a 6mm pipe and run it.
I run em in my 264wm at a modest 3050fps and have taken a bighorn sheep at 409y, a big black bear at 125y, two mature mule deer bucks one at 535 and one at 365. All animals DRT. I Have no reason to switch yet.
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I have dealt with James in the past for barrels. Definitely a great guy!
I know it’s a long shot but was hoping someone might want to trade one of my rifles for one if they had one.
I have my rifles in the classifieds if I sell one of them then James is...
Like the title says I am looking to buy an origin long action preferably with mag bolt face but not a deal breaker if it isn’t.
I have two guns to trade and or cash via PayPal.
let me know what you have!!
