    Savage 220

I didn't have to do anything special to my bolt. I just got all of the packing grease off and then soaked everything with rem oil let it sit then wiped it all down. I have put about 50 rounds through mine and as long as I don't baby it, it cycles every time and ejects every time.

    .410 Slugs

To be really honest with you not far at all! Even at 20 feet when they land it's tough. I'm going to the rang today and I'll try to pattern one on a full size man target, I think the shot opens up pretty fast due to the rifling. I fish where there are many cat tails surrounding a small lake...

    .410 Slugs

The Judge is made by Taurus not Ruger. And it's a blast to shoot at diving blackbirds with 7 1/2 bird shot. Hard as hell too!:D

Gotta get a slug gun for a specific hunting area

What rounds are you using jarhead84? I ended up sighting mine in with the Federal Barnes tipped 3", but it is dead on with the 3" accutips as well. I know all guns are different but it's nice to know these rounds are so close if you have to switch it won't cost a fortune re-sighting.

    Best slugs for H&R?

I like the Lightfields and the Hornady's but both loads fell off bad for me at 110 yards. I think the newer designed remington accutips and the federal barnes tipped expander stay much truer out to 200 yards. I used to only shoot lightfields out of my 1187 special purpose with hastings barrel...

Gotta get a slug gun for a specific hunting area

Check out the Savage 220F. Great long range bolt action 20 Gauge with the accutrigger. Priced below $500 most places for the synthetic stock. I put a bushnell 4200 3x9x40 on it and I'm counting down till next gun season........

    Need a new slug gun

+1 more for the 220. Picked mine up two weeks ago and love it. I completely forget I'm shooting a shotgun. (You could call it a rifle??) I wish you could take them coyote hunting here, I hate having to wait until November.

    Savage 220

I bought one last week, mounted a Bushnell 4200 and it groups 3" Remingtons and Federal Barnes TIpped expanders great at 150 yards. My gun did good with the Hornady's until about 120 yards then they started getting pretty inconsistent. I don't know what if any accuracy you would gain by...
