    Long Range 22LR

I'm late to the discussion, but will add my observation. I have a CZ 455 and a 10/22 set up for 200 yards +. The CZ has the stock 1:16 varmint barrel and the 10/22 has a Green Mountain 1:9 barrel. I shoot only CCI Standard Velocity or Wolf Match Target in these two rifles. My impression is...

I shot some 60 gr Aguila SSS Sniper Subsonic Ammunition today.

Subsonic and match velocity (1080 fps and lower) shoot well. Now that the SSS is drying up, my fall back is CCI Standard Velocity, Green Tag and Wolf Match Target. All shoot acceptably at 50. The Wolf Match Target shoots acceptably out past 100 yards. Acceptable is 3/4 to 1/2 at 50,

    Annealing cases??

I haven't annealed in several years, but from what I remember followed up the annealing with mid-range loads and then full power loads thereafter. I don't know if that step contributed anything, its just what I did. Accuracy for me did improve after teh annealing. At that time I reloaded for...

Dave King, Where can I hunt tohse "real" Wild Boar?

John M. and Dave King, I don't mean to horn in on the discussion but thought I would post this link to answer the question on the difference between Wild Boar and Feral Hogs. This tracks with what I heard as I grew up - namely true Russian Boar were imported around the turn of the last century...

OK Matchking Fans, how about Gamekings?

Dave, I enjoyed reading about your Knox County hunting, it helps to confirm some of my own observations. I second Ian M.'s statement about the .375 especially if its the 375 Winchester that came out a few years ago. Seemed like it would be the perfect pig rifle, but it just didn't have that...

OK Matchking Fans, how about Gamekings?

augustinaustin, You know, I think the big pigs are just tough SOB's that can soak up a lot of energy and keep on going. I agree with you regarding the brush, if they make it to the brush, only the buzzards and coyotes will find them. My current thinking for the big ones (300lb.+) is to shoot...

OK Matchking Fans, how about Gamekings?

Several years ago I shot a larger hog with a 160 GMK in 7mm. I estimate the pig was 300+ lbs. and it was at 80 yds distance. The pig was moving on a trail that gave me a front quartering shot with the pig moving across and towards me. The bullet hit mid-way up behind the left shoulder...
