What is the one piece of hunting/shooting advice you would give yourself if you could go back in time

Start doing long range rifle competitions sooner. After competing for a few years, you understand wind and ballistics a lot better, and some of those tough shots in the field get a lot easier.

    Barnes bullets??

I have been using the 127 LRX in my 260 Rem and the 200 LRX in my 300WM with great results.

    6.5 creed copper load help

I've had great results with the 127LRX with my 260 Rem (what people used to get before the 6.5 Creed). Although BC will vary some with the rifle and environmentals, a G1 .228 or G7 .446 work well for me when running the bullet at ~2820 fps. If you have an Applied ballistics calculator, they do...

    Any Norther CA hunters here?

You can also apply to hunt Consumes River areas, not sure if this year’s draw has happened yet. A bit further away, you can hunt Knoxville wildlife area north of Lake Berryessa (but it can get crowded on the weekends).

    260 Rem loads

My bad, sorry. I was thinking RL-16, not 26. But you must be really stuffing the case to get that in.

    260 Rem loads

Either that’s a typo or you are running a dangerous load. I’m not even sure I could get 48.8gn of RL26 in a 260 case.

Need a recipe for 6.5 PRC

If you are worried about barrel life, H1000 is a much better option for that class of bullet.

    Which Hunting Knife

Sorry to go off topic, but how do you get the tenderloins with the gutless method? Re knives, I typically have a skinning knife, a boning knife and a general purpose knife. But I also don’t backpack in for miles like I did when I was younger.

    6mm creedmoor - 108gr eldm

There is also a trade-off in barrel life for the higher speeds.

    Wet Tumbling

I do ~100 at a time. I shake out the pins by hand, rinse and put them in a food dehydrator. Don’t overdo the tumbling. If you make the batches too big or run it too long, you can peen the case mouths. Unless you have really overdone it, a quick chamfer takes care of this. Apart from that...

    200 Gr Barnes LRX Stability

I've shot the 200 LRX in my 1:10 300WM @ ~2800fps with good results, no stability issues.

    Two stage trigger recommendation?

I like the BixNAndy 2-stage the best, TriggerTech for 1 stage. I think that the TriggerTech 2 stage is good, but I like a longer first stage and the TriggerTech has a very short 1st stage.

    6mm Creed Help?

If this is a new barrel, it may well speed up after 150-250 rounds.

.22 lead ammo banned in California?

Shooting non-game species like ground squirrels and coyotes still requires non-lead ammunition in firearms. All firearms hunting in California requires non-lead ammunition. It might be possible to get a depredation permit that allows use of lead ammunition, but I think that is unlikely.

.22 lead ammo banned in California?

The commercial non lead 22LR is crap, you are doing well if you can keep out to 4MOA. One time consuming and expensive option is making your own with the Cutting Edge CuRX .22 kits. The 32gn Cutting Edge 22 bullets work well in a standard gun; the heavier bullets need faster twist barrels. I...
