Meichele, We have used the 162 a/max a lot in longrange benchrest in Australia with good results in a 10in twist with speeds from 2850 to 3150 fps.We are also in early tests with the new 175 Smk and it looks promising in the same gun.JR..Jeff Rogers..ps i live in a tropical warm climate..[ QUOTE...

    Accuracy is relative!

Goodgrouper,There is in effect 100s of ways to achieve the level of accuracy that an individual desires..The easiest way is to listen to one person instead of taking the ideas from a 100 different people...My personal approach may or may not be the easiest or best way but works good enough to...

Bore-Cleaning Products and Methods -- Online Review

BH, Do you have a contact to the manufacturer,as my 30 cal with the 187 BIBS fouls quite badly,it would be great to shorten the copper removal time..I will check with them to see if they have an Australian agent..JR..Jeff...

looking for the be all and end all in .30 cal long range

Daniel,You don't say if there is a requirment for a certain amount of energy or just accuracy...If it's accuracy then i think the 300ack is about tops right now..I will build one in '05 for 1000yd bench,i understand it will drive a 210 grainer up to 3150 fps in a 30 in barrel with quite long...

    cleaning up SMK bullet tip?

Dr john,I have made 4 different designs of meplat trim tool as a progression to try for the perfect bullet tip..Long story short the latest version is nearly the same as the unit Dave T sells for $40,follow the prompts by Crowmag..My bullets are fairly blunt, don't have BC figures but they lose...

bullet ogive measuring for mile shooting

Goodgrouper,You mention .004 ogive length tolerance,is this the bearing surface or just the base to ogive??...If 1 bullet is say .600 bc and the others .620 bc which is easy to get because of their exterior shapes then you can guess what happens to the elevation at target..I qualify for...

bullet ogive measuring for mile shooting

goodgrouper,The measurement of base to ogive at the land dia position is not going to give you the same shaped bullets as a given..I spend a lot of time on qualifing bullets in many areas for 1000yd bench ,i do so because i believe it's worth it especially when u see the targets come...

    improved 300 win mag

bwalker,I don't have that info,i went straight to my cartridge and it holds 2 grains of water less than a standard 300wm using Lapua brass so i'm told..I use a hat full of vv560 with a 187 BIB in a 13.5 twist barrel 30in long, this gives about 3300fps..this is high pressure for sure..JR..Jeff Rogers
