I'm thinking of having a jeweled bolt for a Rem 700 long action blued. I looked all over the internet for a picture of one before I pay my money and take my chances but I cant find one. Does anyone here have one they can take a nice clean picture of and post for me. It would be extra nice if you...
Thanks guys. I was leaning toward the "not" option unless I got a few positive replies that it was fine from people in the know. I think we're going to have it professionally blued instead. Hmmm, I wonder if anyone here at LRH has a jeweled bolt that is blued gloss black that would be willing to...
Is is safe to bring a Remington chrome moly bolt body (Firing pin, spring, and shroud all removed) to 520-560 degrees to give it a purple color without damaging it or messing with the metallurgy? I want to make a bolt purple without making it unsafe.
Are Remington chrome moly bolts...
Is an RCBS JR2 tall enough to satisfactorily load .338 RUM? I’m thinking specifically about having a charged brass in the shell holder and being able to place the bullet on it with reasonable ease.
Does anyone know the distance between the top of the (lowered) ram and the bottom of the top...
Does anyone know of or has anyone actually made (large format printer perhaps) a graphic representation of a rifle bullet trajectory TO SCALE? I'm thinking a 4-8 foot long print representing 1000 yards. I am not interested in these rainbow like representations of comparative trajectories. I...
I just called Accurate Powders and they claim a 3-5% pressure variation from -40 deg to 140 deg. He said it is on par with the Hodgdon Extreme temp variations.
And the tech I spoke with was very friendly.

I saw that in the Nosler reloading data the Magpro gave best velocities AND was their most accurate powder of those tested. Do you know if it's temp sensitive?
Thank you both! I was hoping someone had good results with the Hodgdon extreme powders. I love Hodgdon powders.
Also thanks for the tip on bullet jump with the Accubonds. That makes complete sense with the tangent ogive and the good results he has seen from a factory chamber and factory ammo...
Hey everyone,
I'm trying to help a friend make the switch from factory ammo to handloads. He really likes the performance of the Nosler Trophy Grade .270 WSM ammo using the 140 gr Accubond.
If anyone knows which powders have a similar burn rate to what Nosler is using in that load that info...
Id like to see Berger make a 175 gr .30 cal XLR varmint hunting bullet with a slightly opened meplat. Something like a .060 hp. And I would love to see their 175 gr .30 cal hunting bullet with a rebated boat tail like the miraculous bullets Richard Graves used to make.
Also a 300-325 gr .338 in...
I am considering getting an AR-30 in .338 Lapua. Looking at pictures it seems the cheek piece seems a bit low to get a good cheek weld and still be lined up behind the centerline of the scope. I realize the (front of the) cheek piece has to be low to allow full rearward movement of the bolt. Are...
I found a website once that had an attachment that screwed to the ocular eye piece of a rifle scope. They claimed it increased the eye relief and if I remember right it also made the image appear wider to the eye, as in there was no longer a dark ring around the image. Does anybody know what...
ROY! I should have guessed you would reply. Good to hear from you. THANK YOU FOR THE LINK! Where are you that you won't be home for months?
My buddy bought this stock and had me glasbed it and freefloat the bbl. When I got done and took off the surgical tubing and removed and refitted the...
