What extinct or endangered animal would you like to hunt and what rifke wouod you use ?

Five years ago when my wife and I were up in Alaska, just driving the state for a few months, we came across a Muskox bull, the light hitting it just right, one of the prettiest animals I'd ever seen. So now five years later, we are heading back in May for another two-month walk-a-about...

What is the the most flat shooting cartridge yall can think of?

Yes, I also bought a bunch of them as well from Brown, even Brown's loading information is kinda weak. If a guy wants more speed you just have to go, "where no man has gone before" Warp Speed Scotty! 🫡 aye aye Captain, hold my Beer Captain! 🫨 Cheers

What is the the most flat shooting cartridge yall can think of?

The "Green box" gives this as the advertised velocity, but... I've never had one come close to the factory-advertised velocity out of a 24" or better rifle barrel. I agree the MOA is never much better than 2 or 3 plus MOA. Just my 0.2 Cheers Technical Information Caliber: 30-06 Springfield...

What is the the most flat shooting cartridge yall can think of?

Perhaps we should set a max range for the cartridges like say; 400 or 500 yards as to what cartridge is the flattest shooting, just a thought. Cheers Oh, by the way... I'm in the .257 Wby Mag camp.

What gun did you want that was never made ?

Agree with your Rigby sitrep, I think there were a few others in Wildcats as well, but... I don't think any with a double-radius shoulder and belted, I could be wrong. Cheers

What gun did you want that was never made ?

Kinda funny, I had a very similar thing happen with me, with another manufacturer over a cartridge idea for the AR15 platform. I think they rejected it so they can do it later and circumvent the originator of the idea, they have the money and horsepower, they just call it "doing business"...

What gun did you want that was never made ?

I had a friend who was done Bear hunting, mostly Giz in Alaska, he offered me his Mauser Weatherby in .300 Wby mag, and like a fool, I passed it by, because I liked the MkV looks better, I should've bought it, the rifle was in great shape for near 4 or 5 Bear hunts behind it. 😫😖 Cheers

What gun did you want that was never made ?

I agree, all but one of my Weatherbys over the years were wood the exception was a .257 Wby Mag Accumark. The .224 Wby Mag and the .22-250 Rem Varmnitmasters were purchased at the same time and I asked Weatherby to do a hand-select for me, to get the stocks as close as possible, back then they'd...

What gun did you want that was never made ?

I agree that would be a great cartridge in that little miniature... Wby MkV action. After tipping over a boatload of Yokes and Chucks with the .22-250 I decided I like to hunt Deer with it at a little longer range with more energy, so... I re-barreled it (26") with the same contour as the...

What gun did you want that was never made ?

Hands down it would be the Weatherby Varmintmaster in .308 Win with a standard and semi-heavy barrel in 24" and 26", I even called Weatherby about it many years back, I have two of them one in .224 Wby Mag and the other in 22.250 Rem I suggested that they re-barrel the .22-250 Rem Weatherby...

    10mm handgun

Since we are on the subject I thought, OK... I'll bring it back a little... Here's an interesting interview with Shoemaker, the Alaska guide who popped that Brown Bear with a 9mm 147gr hard cast from Buffalo Bullets 😲, he stated the velocity at something over 1300 fps, I think he meant 1100 fps...

Your going your hunt of a lifetome what are you hunting and what rifle are you using ? Mine is easy

Sold my rifle off many years back, it was a fabulously accurate rifle with anything I put in it from 235gr to 300gr's and one of the most comfortable .375 H&H's I ever shot... "DON'T" ever sell it, my friend. Cheers
