Is it worth it to put the money into a rem 788?

I definitely think they are worth the money to rebuild. I have 2 788's one in a .222 rem that shoots dimes all day long and a 243 that was rebuilt last year that shoots amazing. Good luck with whatever decision you make. When I had mine rebuilt I had my gunsmith tap the action so that I...

First time hunting Wyoming. Got unit 73

I have not hunted that area previously but I have a coworker that hunts on property that borders 73 in area 75 northeast of Hiland. Both he and his kids have killed multiple bucks over 80" in that area. So the chances of shooting a great buck is not out of the question.

    Schmidt Bender Classic 2.5-10x56

Yotekiller04, I have the exact same scope which I paid 500 dollars for, 16 years ago. It was basically brand new and was only mounted on rifles for advertising shoots and never had a shot fired beneath it. I also picked up a 4x12x42 at the same time for the same price. Best standard hunting...

    .264 Win Mag for Elk

First off I am not a Berger fan boy, I just let my rifles tell me what they like. And in this case my custom 264 win mag really likes the 140 grain Berger's. 1/2 to 3/4 minute gun out to 800 yards. As with any shot, it is about the placement. I would not suggest taking a shoulder shot with...

    Sierra gamechangers

I've shot 5 animals (whitetail doe at 460; 2 whitetail bucks 1 at 106 yds other at 232 yds; buck antelope at 283; and a bull elk at 383) with the 165 grain TGK out of my 28 nosler. All were one shot kills and only recovered 2 of the 5 bullets. I found they are easy to develop loads for and so...

Forster coax press...should I buy one?

Not trying to hijack this thread but, how does the RCBS summit press compare to the CO-AX press?

    My sons first buck

Wow great buck for such a little dude. Couldn't even think about trying that here in Wyoming. I have been working with my son who is 8 on his shooting but he can't even apply for a tag for another 4 years.

    Powder temp sensitivity

Well I did roll some new rounds up with RL15 and 90 gr Sierra TGK after I posted this thread. The accuracy of these rounds did not compare to the original rounds I loaded with 4064 to test the rifle before I had it rebuilt. The reason I was looking into the temp stability was because I was...

    Powder temp sensitivity

Working up another new load for the newly rebuilt 243. Which powder do you guys think will show less sensitivity to temperature. IMR 4064 , RE 15, RE 19. These are powders that I have on hand that will provide 3000 fps for a 90 grain bullet. Thank you for any input.

    Which boots?

Just one other thing to keep in mind, if you have wide feet, there are only a few boot companies that actually build a wide boot.

    2019 Wyoming Whitetail

We fished from the 4th to the 9th. First 3 days on the Muskegon, 1 day on the White, and 1 day on the Pierre Marquette. I landed 9 stlhd on the Muskegon. Hooked up on one on the White and caught a lot of juveniles and browns. The last 2 pics are from the PM. Those repros are pretty cool.

    Which boots?

The Danner's that I replaced were Trophy's which replaced my first pair which were the Canadians. Both of which I don't believe they even make anymore. I had the Canadians in high school and put them through a lot of crap, great boot wore them out my second year in college. The Trophy's were a...
